General Summary: The Welder III will follow engineering plans, drawing and instructions to weld materials into the required shapes using welding equipment. The Welder/Fabricator will be responsible for checking the welded materials for dimension and thickness and producing quality work. The Welder/Fabricator will work out of the Engineering and Fabrication Shop or at construction job sites. Occasional travel may be required. The Welder III will report to the Shop Manager. Responsibilities: • Ability to use gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to manufacture items and components. • Cutting materials into the required shapes, checking dimensions and thicknesses. • Welding or joining metal and other materials into a wide range of structures. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. • Understanding safety procedures and regulations related to welding operations. • Use metal shear and break tables to perform work. • Using computer programs to design structures. • Work closely with other team members, such as fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to plan and execute welding projects efficiently and effectively. • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including materials used, welding parameters, and inspection results. • Supervise and provide guidance to Welder/Fabricator I and II, including training and mentoring. • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Operating tools and machinery and welding equipment. • Inspecting and testing welds with precision measuring instruments. • Dismantling metal structures. • Wearing safety clothing and using protective equipment. • Able to work in a shop setting or job site. • Assures proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, and housekeeping. • Performs other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: • License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or by the company. • Certification: None required. • Education: High School Graduate or GED. • Experience: 2 years’ experience welding and experience with CNC plasma table and waterjet table preferred. Working Conditions: • Works in a warehouse setting with varying degrees of stress and time pressure. • Works in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures and humidity. • Wear personal protective equipment as required. • Able to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required. • Travel may be required to job sites. Hiring dependable experienced Steel Fabricators- Tig Welders and Structural Lead welders- Must be familiar with OSHA. Must be able to fabricate stairs and rails. Lays out, aligns, fits and welds fabricated steel components to assemble structural forms. Operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saw, roll, brake, press, forming machine, spinning machine and punch to cut, bend and shape all sorts of steel. Analyze work orders and read blueprints to determine information such as material to be used and types and sequence of operations to be used for fabrication.
