Location: Thomasville, GA Basic Function: Fabricate, layout, position, align, and fit parts of structural metal products. Essential Duties: • Must be proficient with cutting torch and be able to carbon arc gouge. • Must be able to use and read measuring devices such as tape measures, level, etc. • Must be able to read, understand, and work from blueprints and/or process sheets. • Must display basic welding skills and show willingness and desire to learn welding trade. • Within given time frame must be able to pass basic ASME certification tests. • Must know, understand, and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations. Experience Required: Technical training from an accredited school or six (6) months of related welding experience. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. chest high on a regular basis. Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on hard cement surface and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat and climb ladders up to 8 feet high. Will require working in areas up to 15 feet from the ground. Must be able to climb stairs and work in temperature ranges corresponding with the outside ambient temperatures. Must be able to access all areas of the plant both inside and outside. Will be exposed to noise, dust, and dirt, welding fumes and machine lubricants and/or oils. Must be able and willing to work with and properly use all necessary and/or required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes and fall protection.
