Fabrication Welder - 2nd Shift

Our Maritime Solutions Jacksonville facility has multiple opportunities for fabrication welders with variable levels of experience. • The primary tasks include the welding of newly fabricated structural members and plating • Other tasks include the welding of outfitting items such as electrical cableways, brackets, watertight hatches/doors and many other components in accordance with Module fabrication . • All tasks require strict adherence to the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. • A structural welder should be able to read and utilize welding procedures and welding symbols. • A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use an oxy-fuel torch to apply pre-heat to materials prior to welding. • A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use air carbon arc gouging equipment to gouge welds. • A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use electric and pneumatic grinders to prepare materials for welding, as well as to clean and contour finished welds. • A structural welder should be able to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs. • A structural welder should be able to use weld gauges to verify weld size and quality in accordance with specifications. • A structural welder should be able to utilize ceramic backing in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions with the semi-automatic welding processes. • A structural welder should be able to pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes, such as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of high strength steel and stainless steel, as well as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW-Pulse) of aluminum and steel . • Must be able to obtain DBIDS Access Card. Required Education, Experience, & Skills • Demonstrate the ability to pass the following including FCAW with ceramic tape, single Vee and open butt in 2G and 3G positions. • Demonstrate ability to perform GMAW pulse and spray arc in all positions. • 3 to 5 years' experience in shop fabrication preferred. • This position is for the 2 nd shift Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills • Must have a basic understanding of the Military standard 1688 and 1689 for surface and submarine fabrication. • High School Diploma Graduate or GED Equivalency Certificate/Diploma. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $78520 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Welder / Structural Fitter

Structural Fitter/Fabricator Job Description • As a Fitter, you will be involved in fabricating metal parts and finishing units, primarily working with carbon and stainless steel. This role involves fitting and fabricating pipe or structural steel for certified tanks and pressure vessels used in water filtration and other high-pressure systems. You will work at heights up to 13 feet and may need to enter tanks, requiring comfort with enclosed spaces. A key requirement is passing a fluxcore X-ray weld test due to certification standards. You will also cut your own metal and read blueprints or drawings, performing layouts, assembling, and fitting structural steel components or pressure-containing equipment. Shift: • Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM – 3:15 AM • Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:15 PM • Saturday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Pay: $24 – $27/hr (depending on experience) Responsibilities • Fabricate metal parts and finish units with carbon and stainless steel. • Fit and fabricate pipe or structural steel for tanks and pressure vessels. • Work on units standing up to 13 feet and enter tanks as needed. • Cut own metal for fabrication. • Read and interpret blueprints or drawings. • Perform layouts, assemble, and fit structural steel components like beams, frames, and columns. • Fit and prepare shells, heads, nozzles, and other components of pressure vessels. • Pass a fluxcore X-ray weld test. Essential Skills • 2-5+ years of experience in industrial fabrication. • Proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings. • Experience with 1/2" - 12" Steel Pipe - Schedule 40. • Skills in flux core welding, metal fabrication, and fitting. • Experience with carbon steel, stainless pipe, and pressure vessels. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Fluxcore welding certification is highly preferred • ASME Certification or equivalent experience highly preferred • Experience as a structural fitter or pressure vessel fabricator. • Combo welder fabricator. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
