The Structural Steel Welder will be responsible for welding and fabricating structural steel components used in various construction and industrial projects. This individual will read and interpret blueprints, work with various welding equipment, and adhere to safety guidelines to ensure the quality and precision of the finished product. Responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements • Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders • Cut, fit, and weld various types of structural steel components, including beams, columns, and trusses • Use various hand and power tools to fabricate, grind, and finish welded surfaces • Ensure that all welding work is performed to meet safety, quality, and engineering standards • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the timely completion of projects • Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools as needed • Keep work area clean and organized Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent • Completion of a welding training program or apprenticeship • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel welding • D1.1 SMAW 3G/ 4G certification strongly preferred • Knowledge of welding principles, methods, and techniques • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings • Familiarity with welding safety guidelines and procedures • Good communication and teamwork skills • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift heavy materials • Experience with welding equipment and tools, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders, grinders, and cutting tools • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and work overtime when needed.
