Position Summary PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM. The University of New Mexico-Gallup invites applications for a Lecturer I or II in Welding Technology. We are one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo and Hopi Reservation. The city of Gallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums and extraordinary cultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel. UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse student population with 100+ full time and part-time faculty members. We are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor’s degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, and adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichment courses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple high school populations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High School and the Center for Career and Technical Education. It is an exciting time to join our faculty as we are expanding our programs, engaging with our community, establishing multiple endowments and grant opportunities while hiring a substantial cohort of new faculty. Lecturers at UNM-G have career advancement opportunities that are outlined in the UNM Faculty Handbook and faculty union collective bargaining agreement. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 27CH course load per year in the area of Welding Technology, maintain an active service record (as defined by the UA-UNM CBA), participate in monthly Division meetings and execute other relevant duties as agreed upon in conjunction with the division chair in an annual faculty-chair agreement. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through actively practicing inclusive behavior and proactively managing bias. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • American Welding Society (AWS) Certifications o Shielded Metal Arc Welding – AWS D1.1 (A5.1 and A5.5) Structural Welding, All Positions, AND o Flux Core Arc Welding (Duel Shield) – AWS D1.1 (A5.20) Structural Welding, All Positions o API 1104 or ASME B31. Role Overview: This job description outlines the requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, and duties for the position of Purchasing Receiver of Four Corners Welding & Gas Supply. The Purchasing Receiver is responsible for receiving items, matching them to the packing slips, purchase orders and invoices. Education & Experience Requirements: • Required: High School or equivalent • 6 Months of Receiving and/or Purchasing Experience Key Responsibilities and Duties: • Receiving products from vendor deliveries and unloading trucks at the loading dock using a forklift. • Collecting and disposing of all used packing material. • Comparing product deliveries with issued purchase orders to ensure there are no discrepancies. • Work with Accounts Payable Clerk reconciling invoices that do not match purchase orders and packing slips • Investigate discrepancies; make required calls to vendors to report and correct short-falls. • Verifying the condition of received items; make required calls to vendors to report damaged items and coordinate with the purchasing department to arrange a credit or the shipment of replacement items. • Printing inventory labels • Tracking of back-order items and special orders to ensure timely receipt and delivery to our customers. • Entering and updating inventory in the system as products are received. • RMA paperwork for returns • Ensure adequate supply of shipping materials is maintained. • Support purchasing department • Occasionally assist at front counter sales by answering phones, taking orders, and completing sales. • Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment • Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture • Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly • Protects the company’s value by keeping proprietary information confidential • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations • Performs all other assigned duties by management Competencies: • Effective communication • Action Oriented • Situational adaptability • Ensures accountability • Strong customer focus and team orientation • Time management Required Skills & Experience: • High level of attention to detail • Ability to maintain high safety standards • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to operate independently Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory duties.
