POSITION OVERVIEW Position will work in Weld, Round, and Flange and will weld, cut and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. KEY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Able to read tags. • Ability to tack weld with MIG weld. • Able to correctly and efficiently flange pipe. • Build and stuff wall fittings. • Able to correctly change lead and liner. • Ability to use and read a tape measure. • Setup welder correctly according to specifications. • Able to choose the correct shielding gas and attach to welding gun. • Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills may be preferred or required. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS None Required. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance duties to ensure the optimal functioning of mining equipment and infrastructure. This position requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual with experience in both welding and mechanical systems, who can thrive in a challenging and dynamic underground mining environment.
