We’re looking for a hardworking and dependable Welding Shop Helper to join our team. This is a hands-on position assisting with a variety of shop and field tasks to keep projects moving efficiently. Job Description: As a skilled welder, you will be responsible for performing various welding tasks on ships, lighthouses, and other equipment. Your duties will include welding components such as shells, engines, framing, tanks, boilers, decks, bulkheads, superstructures, masts, stacks, ventilation ducts, railings, Class I piping, and similar items. You will also be responsible for removing and replacing interferences in the way of welds, fitting brackets and machinery foundations, and adjusting all welding controls to ensure that qualified welding procedures are maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding prefabricated subassemblies, buoys, davits, pressure vessel tanks, piping, and similar items. Additionally, you will be required to work safely and efficiently, using tools and equipment such as measuring instruments, blueprints, and welding equipment.
