General: If you are primarily a stick or flux core welder, do not apply, you will be rejected. Candidate must be proficient at MIG and TIG welding and pass an in house weld test. Will operate a broad range of machines, tools, equipment etc. and possess mechanical skills and knowledge of company policies and processes. Apply extensive experience, knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. May operate specialized equipment and/or understand complex drawings and diagrams. Frequent lifting up to 50lbs with or without assistance. **Job Title: Welder** • *Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Steel MIG, TIG, and Flux Welder to work in a covered shop environment. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in MIG, TIG, flux core, and steel welding and be proficient in fabrication and blueprint reading. Applicants must be able to pass a 2G and 3G steel plate test utilizing MIG, TIG, and Flux core techniques. • *Responsibilities** + Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and stainless steel materials. + Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to ensure accurate welding and fabrication. + Utilize flux core and aluminum welding techniques when necessary. + Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and quality control. + Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently. + Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures in the shop. • *Essential Skills** + 3 years of experience in MIG welding. + 3 years of experience in TIG welding. + 5 years of experience in steel welding. + Proficiency in blueprint reading and shop mathematics. • *Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Formal craft training is preferred. + Ability to pass a welding test to demonstrate skills. + Experience in fabrication and aluminum welding. • *Why Work Here?** We offer flexible work schedules, education assistance, and career development & training opportunities. Aluminum Welder

NSC has immediate openings for Aluminum Welder in Slidell, LA. Aluminum Welder must have the ability to understand directions and follow instructions. Technically proficient in tasks, work processes, and equipment operation. Accountable for completion of daily work assignments, completion of work signatures, and QA signatures for completeness and quality of work. Aluminum Welder Job Requirement: • Safely operate equipment to meet production requirements. • Perform MIG welds on aluminum, according to company standards • TIG welding skill is a plus. • Perform vertical and horizontal fillet MIG welds, with a high degree of quality and little supervision • Understand and know how to use personal protective equipment (PPE) for all work areas and material. • Accurately and in a timely manner to produce materials to specifications under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and follow established procedures and approved processes. • Experience in pulse-on-pulse MIG machine is a plus. • Comply with all equipment operations & procedures. • Other duties as assigned Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • High School Diploma and/ or GED equivalency. • 2-5 years TIG experience is a plus. • Must be able to read and interpret drawings. • Able to read tape measure and perform simple math such as adding and subtracting fractions, decimals, and whole numbers • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must be able to work in a team or independently • Must be able to read and speak English. • Knowledge of shipyard safety practices, vessel terminology and use of scissor and boom lifts.
