Structural Welder

Ensuring Chart’s Success… The New Iberia facility specializes in cold box assembly and fabrication, pressure vessels and other cryogenic equipment as used for the air separation and hydrocarbon industries. The end users of this equipment include all the major LNG, petrochemical and air separation engineering on a worldwide basis. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia. What Will You Do? Weld by arc method using gas shielded flux-cored wire, semi-automatic Weld on carbon, alloy or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings or other parts included in fabricated steel work Interpret drawings and welding symbols Select the correct welding wire and adjust welding machine to make the welds specified Operate arc gouging equipment Produce welds which are acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal and vertical positions using gas-shielded flux core wire welding procedures Clean welds by grinding or brushing where required Judge proper setup for welding Apply welding sequences which will prevent excessive shrinkage or distortion Learn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirements Demonstrate an understanding of the proper use of hand tools, grinders and welding equipment Assist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping and preparing work pieces Required to work at elevated heights up to 75ft Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… Your Experience Should Be... Structural Fitter/Welder

As a result of OEG's on-going expansion of the US cargo carrying market in the last couple of years, OEG Offshore is capable of offering its wide range of combined products and services to deepwater and shelf customers from key locations in Port Fourchon, New Iberia and Houston. We are looking for a responsible and dedicated Welder/Fitter to better support our customer base. The ideal candidate will have fabrication experience along with AWS D1.1 welding standards. Responsibilities: · Repair CCU equipment to maintain OEG’s quality standards. · Replace corrosion areas or damaged members of baskets and shipping containers. · Repair door hinges and latches by cutting out old parts and fabricating new hinges and reinstallation of components. · Operate arc gouging equipment. · Demonstrate the proper use of hand tools, grinder, and welding equipment. · Clean welds by grinding or chipping where required. · Interpret drawings and welding symbols. · Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Requirements: · Minimum 6 months of Forklift operating experience. · Minimum 6 months of Overhead Crane experience. · Previous 6GR welding experience to FCAW procedures. · Understanding of Structural Fabrication along with repairing DNV assemblies · Mig welding. · Fluxcore welding. Vessel Fitter & Vessel Fitter/Welder

FITTER POSITION SUMMARY: The Fitter - is an individual selected to fabricate fit and assemble the structural components of various products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Fit components of drawing to drawings and job requirements • Use proper equipment to fuse components together • Analyze blueprints to ensure using proper components being used • Layout and fit equipment with all tolerances per drawing, QC and calculations • Work with Production Manager and QC to ensure maximum efficiency QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma. • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a relevant field. • Communications skills in English/Spanish (if applicable). • Experience in a variety of fitting procedures. • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use PPE. WELDER POSITION SUMMARY: The Welder - is an individual selected to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. The Welder will operate appropriate equipment to put together all finished goods which Global Vessel and Tank produces with a great deal of precision. The welder should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The welder will have a steady and a high degree of attention to detail. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reads blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. • Set up components for welding according to specifications. • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded. • Perform daily welding to required weld procedure • Determine correct equipment and settings to get the job done • Stay up to date with certifications and requirements • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety • Test and inspect welds before final QC for approved quality • Work with Production Manager and fitter to ensure maximum efficiency QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma. • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a relevant field. • Communications skills in English/Spanish (if applicable). • Experience in a variety of welding equipment and procedures. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use PPE. • Success completion of a welding test provided by the QC department prior to hire date. • Valid U.S. driver’s license. • Familiar with Global Vessel and Tank software programs Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Health savings account • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
