What You Can Expect Working in the Skilled Welder II Position The Skilled Welder II is responsible for the fabrication, weld, and final installation of steel components in the production of blast-resistant, modular buildings and other industrial buildings. In this role, you will be required to work with cranes, jigs, torches, plasma, hand tools and welding machines on a continual basis and to meet third-party inspection requirements under AWS, ABS and DNV compliance standards. As a Skilled Welder, you are integral in supporting Armoda’s goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. Responsibilities • Proficiently welds components in flat, vertical and overhead positions. • Performs daily fit up and lay out duties. • Fabricates pieces, ensuring conformance with product specifications and blueprints. • Maintains schedule and budgets for the task at hand and overall project. • Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned. • Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment. Minimum Qualifications • 2+ years of structural steel welding experience. • Knowledge of proper fitting/welding techniques. • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications. • Work in such a way as to create limited scrap or rework and work to continually improve quality level. • Basic math skills with ability to read tape measure. • Ability to successfully use the following hand tools: grinders, tape measure, squares, come-a-longs, torches, plasma, and other tools specific for job task. • Basic computer skills. • Must pass onsite 3G/4G weld test and offsite, third-party Short Arc and/or Flux Core MIG test during interview process. • Ability to obtain company required welding certifications, within 2 attempts, within 45 days of employment. • Must be able to pass a company pre-employment including background check and drug screen. Bolts, clamps and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding. 5. Obtains specified electrode and inserts into portable holder or threads electrode wire through portable welding gun. 6.
