Weld by arc method using gas shielded flux-cored wire, semi-automatic Weld on carbon, alloy or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings or other parts included in fabricated steel work Interpret drawings and welding symbols Select the correct welding wire and adjust welding machine to make the welds specified Operate arc gouging equipment Produce welds which are acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal and vertical positions using gas-shielded flux core wire welding procedures Clean welds by grinding or brushing where required Judge proper setup for welding Apply welding sequences which will prevent excessive shrinkage or distortion Learn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirements Demonstrate an understanding of the proper use of hand tools, grinders and welding equipment Assist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping and preparing work pieces Required to work at elevated heights up to 75ft Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… Your Experience Should Be... WELDER POSITION SUMMARY: The Welder - is an individual selected to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. The Welder will operate appropriate equipment to put together all finished goods which Global Vessel and Tank produces with a great deal of precision. The welder should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The welder will have a steady and a high degree of attention to detail.
