FITTER/WELDER

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour Job description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our heavy haul trailer manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in interpreting technical drawings, aligning and assembling structural components of heavy haul trailers, and using fabrication tools and welding equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality assembly and structural integrity of custom-built heavy-duty trailers. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication diagrams. • Accurately mark out, position, and align structural parts and assemblies. • Fit, tack-weld, and assemble trailer components including beams, frames, axles, suspension systems, and hydraulics. • Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, and cutting torches. • Ensure all fitted components meet dimensional and quality specifications. • Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and engineers to resolve design or assembly issues. • Maintain tools and work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition. • Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, practices, and regulations. • Inspect and test assembled components for alignment, strength, and function. Requirements: • Proven experience as a Fitter in heavy equipment or trailer manufacturing. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with high accuracy. • Proficiency with fabrication and measuring tools. • Basic welding skills (MIG/TIG/Stick) are a strong asset. • Physically fit and able to handle heavy components. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. • Experience working with oversized or multi-axle trailer builds. Pay Range: starting from $30+ with CDL Position Summary Mobile Intrack Welder is responsible for driving, operating, diagnosing, and maintaining a mobile electric flash-butt welding machine. Work includes driving a welding truck (CDL required) to and from work locations and setting the welding truck on the track. Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties • Will perform Intrack Welding functions. • Capable of performing job duties in a safe and professional manner. • Self-directed individual with the ability to supervise and lead a small group. • Responsible to report customer and production status in a professional and timely manner. • No prior welding experience is required. • Must have the ability to read precision instruments and gauges with a background in heavy mechanical/electrical machines and equipment. • Perform QA inspections as required. • Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs. • Candidate will set up and perform weld operations including moving jack stands into place prior to making welds, cleaning and removing ballast rocks in the work area, vehicle maintenance, and cleaning, truck movement while on track from work site to work site, grinding welds as needed. • Must be able to work in all weather conditions. • Assists with lifting/moving, loading/unloading transported materials as needed. • Operates commercial trucks on public roadways in accordance with prevailing traffic laws and regulations, and according to company safety policies. • Welder may be required to perfrom tasks involving physical labor to build, repair and maintain railroad track Required Skills and Qualifications • A valid class A driver's license and satisfactory driving record • Must be 21 years or older • Basic computer skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers. • Fill out and organize work reports • Must be able to travel 90% of time • Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
