Work performed: • Set up and operate GTAW welding machines and support equipment. • Set up and operate rotary tables for tube and pipe welding. • GTAW welding of various materials including stainless steel, Kovar, and copper. • Helium leak testing of assemblies. • Assembly of components before and after welding operations. • Perform other duties as required. Skills required: • Must have vision acuity of 20/30 or better (corrected or uncorrected) and be able to pass a vision test. • Ability to produce precise and structurally sound GTAW welds in various materials. • Ability to interpret and follow established weld schedules (WPS, PQR). • Show ability to read prints and interpret welding symbols. • Be able to work with occasional exposure to heat, hot parts, sparks, while wearing the proper PPE required for the task. • Knowledge on how to setup and perform hydrostatic testing. • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to document all work in a clear, accurate and concise manner. • Torch soldering of copper pipe. • Ability to operate a laser welding machine. • Know how to operate helium leak detector to test integrity of mechanical, braze and weld joints. • Ability to review and inspect welds and braze joints as well as work performed. • Knowledge of and ability to use precision measuring equipment (i.e. calipers, micrometers, borescopes, surface plates, etc.) • Maintain a clean work area. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Education and experience required: • High school diploma. • Welding experience in other processes desirable. Physical requirements: • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm Target Pay: $23 - $27/hour Work Environment: Cleanroom Job DescriptionPerform Orbital welding (TIG/GTAW) on stainless steel for vacuum fittings from one-eight to one-half inch.
