Located in California’s Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems. In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services. Job Purpose: A Welder is responsible for reading and understanding assembly instructions, ensuring that the necessary material are available , and talking precise measurements to ensure perfect alignment of components. They are expected to operate cutting tools to cut and shape metal and use welders to join metal parts together. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products • Mig (GMAW) and Tig (GTAW) Welding Proficient, Experience in Welding Precision Sheet metal as Stainless Steel, aluminum and steel • Utilize handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders • Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tool • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods • Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times • Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures • Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff • Maintain a clean and safe work area Education and Experience • High School Diploma or GED • Minimum 4 years of precision welding experience in precision frame manufacturing • Ability to maintain tight tolerance of +/-0.03 thousandths. • Proficient with reading blueprints and interpret documents including safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (SOP’s) • Must be proficient with the use of measuring tools & validating own work to print specifications. • ASME Section 9 certification beneficial • AWS certifications beneficial (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3. D1.6) • Must be able to set up and maintain all welding machines and tools. Candidates will be required to pass a welding assessment. This is a practical test. This involves performing actual welds to assess skill and technique. This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident. This is a fully on-site, in office role. Role and Responsibilities: • TIG experience in Inconel and Stainless Steel • Perform basic job functions as directed by Shift Lead or Supervisor safely and efficiently • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written to produce a quality product • Fabrication of Plumbing, weldments • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment. • Maintain all machine shop equipment • Notify management of shop consumables (i.e. cutting oils, welding gasses, tooling and bits, etc) in order to maintain inventories • Create assembly and fabrication fixtures • Address and recommend improved methods for creating hardware, and assemblies Skills and Experience: • Will be required to work in a safe manner in machine shop operations • Must demonstrate high levels of quality in welding Inconel, Stainless, Aluminum, Steel etc • Familiar and hands on with TIG, MIG and Spot welding · Must work well on cross functional teams • Must be able to work well with limited supervision • Must keep a clean and orderly work environment • Must have proficient use of hand tools, and bench top equipment • Be flexible on shifts and working hours Education and Experience: • H.S. diploma or equivalent technical/military training preferred. • 4 – 6 years working experience in metal and plumbing fabrication · Qualified in TIG and MIG welding For more information visit: www.bloomenergy.com and view a video on What Powers Us!
