Location: Massman Construction Co. - Little Rock, AR Primary Purpose We are seeking a skilled Welder/Piledriver to join our team. This individual will be responsible for safely performing high-quality welding and piling work in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will hold an active AWS D1.1 certification (or be able to successfully obtain), utilizing FCAW (Wire Feed) methods to perform complete penetration groove welds. Essential Job Functions • Perform welding tasks utilizing FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) for various projects including structural steel and pile driving operations. • Execute penetration groove welds ensuring proper strength and integrity of the welds. • Work with blueprints, specifications, and other technical documentation to understand the scope of work. • Ensure all welds meet AWS D1.1 structural welding standards. • Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently. • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure welds meet company and industry standards. • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure deadlines are met. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. • Perform pile driving activities including setting and driving piles for foundations and structures. • Follow all safety regulations and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards. Qualifications • AWS D1.1 certification (or ability to obtain) using FCAW weld methods is mandatory. • Proven experience in performing penetration groove welds. • Previous experience as a welder/piledriver in heavy civil marine construction is preferred. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. • Strong understanding of welding techniques, equipment, and materials. • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and operate heavy machinery. • Must pass oral swab drug test. Physical Requirements • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, stoop and/or sit. • Must be able to tolerate heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels. • Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders that have capacity limits of 300 lbs. • Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Welder Pay Range: • $15-$25hr • Paid WEEKLY Welder Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish for fitting, painting, and shipping. • Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding. Gather equipment necessary to complete the job. • Clean welded pieces for the next phase of processing. • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations. • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. • Perform non-essential functions as needed. Welder Qualifications: • Minimum of 1-2 years' welding experience required. • Must be able to read and comprehend welding symbols and instructions. • Must be able to read and understand structural drawings. • Must be able to pass a tape measure test. • Must have ability to pass an unlimited thickness groove plate test in the horizontal or vertical and overhead positions using FCAW. • Must be able to carbon arc gouge the back side of butt joints to sound metal. Welder Physical Demands: • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds frequently. • Considerable amounts of overtime and weekend work may be required. • Excessive amounts of bending and stooping to weld in difficult positions. • Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, and a dusty/noisy work environment.
