Position Description - Welder I Company: Quality Steel Corporation Reports to: Department Manager Key Responsibilities: • Ensure Safety First, Safety Always and meet or exceed Quality expectations. • Inspect equipment to be utilized prior to shift start. • Set and/or operate weld machines to manufacturer’s specifications, meeting time budgets for finished product. • Select, install, and position required fittings in accordance with Standard Work Instructions. • Perform welds to meet all company and code requirements. • Perform Quality Control. Visually inspect welds for defects. Report defects to Supervisor. • Maintain machines and cleanliness of workstation. Experience: • Minimum of one year welding experience, preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, humidity, cold). • Knowledge of welding and metal properties, electrical equipment, and manual tools/gauges. • Ability to operate a MIG welder and set parameters as needed. • Ability to safely lift/move up to 60 lbs. • Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner. • Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions. • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to accomplish departmental goals and improve operations. Job Title: Welder in Clarksdale MS. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder to set up, assemble, and weld products using work orders, blueprints, and jigs. The role involves securing component parts using bolts, clamps, or tack welds, and obtaining necessary parts to meet production needs. You will perform visual inspections of finished products to ensure welds are clean and spot-free. Working as part of an assembly line, you will be assigned to complete one component at a time, with flexibility to work in various areas throughout the day based on workflow. Responsibilities • Set up, assemble, and weld products using work orders, blueprints, and jigs. • Secure component parts using bolts, clamps, or tack welds. • Obtain parts needed to complete production requirements. • Perform visual inspections of finished products to ensure welds are clean and complete. • Flexibly work in different areas depending on workflow. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of MIG welding experience. • Ability to perform Flat Fillet Weld, Vertical Down Fillet, Flat Butt Weld, Horizontal Butt Weld, Pipe External Fillet, and Pipe Internal Fillet. • Attention to detail and ability to perform self-inspection of welds. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. • Ability to use hand tools and read a tape measure. • Experience operating an overhead crane is a plus but not required. • Ability to use a jig and read work orders; ability to read blueprints is a plus but not required. Work Environment Work in an open-air warehouse equipped with large fans. Conditions vary with weather, being hot in summer and cold in winter. The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Friday from 8 AM to 2 PM with a paid lunch if you stay on-site. Lunch is at 11:30 AM and a break at 2:15 PM. Punctuality is crucial as turnstiles lock after the workday starts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
