About the position Leonardo DRS is seeking experienced Aluminum Welders to join our team in West Plains, MO, specifically for second shift positions. As a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies for military and commercial customers, we pride ourselves on our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) processes, particularly for aluminum, and must be able to pass rigorous assessment testing. This role requires proficiency in welding various thicknesses of aluminum, ranging from 0.125 to 1 inch, and the ability to perform 2G and 3G downhill plate tests using the GMAW process, as well as a 2G plate test using the GTAW process. In this position, you will be responsible for producing high-quality work that meets prescribed standards while adhering to safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment. You will follow written work instructions and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role also involves supporting and communicating the mission, values, and culture of Leonardo DRS, as well as understanding the requirements of various welding processes and performing them on specific metal types. A strong understanding of welding codes and specifications, including AWS (American Welding Society) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), is essential. Additionally, you will be expected to read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and conduct visual inspections of weldments to confirm compliance with various codes and standards. Responsibilities • Produce quality work to prescribed standards with a focus on continuous improvement. , • Follow written work instructions and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures. , • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). , • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. , • Understand requirements and perform various welding processes on products of specific metal types. , • Be proficient in aluminum TIG and MIG processes with a minimum of 4 years of aluminum welding experience preferred. , • Weld with an acceptable degree of proficiency and meet various codes and specifications including AWS and ASME. , • Perform material preparation, open set-up, and fit to meet process requirements. , • Read blueprints, weld symbols, and NDE symbols and interpret acceptance criteria. , • Accurately perform visual inspection of weldments to confirm compliance with various codes and standards. Requirements • High School diploma or GED. , • Weld school certification preferred. , • Aluminum welding experience required. , • Familiarity with GMAW and GTAW aluminum weld processes. Piping and Welding Estimator

Mechanical Estimator Position We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support our projects ranging from $500K to $10M. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of public infrastructure work, particularly water/wastewater treatment facilities. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, piping, and weld shop work related to public wastewater treatment facility upgrades and replacements. • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine accurate cost structures. • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and accuracy. • Identify potential risks and opportunities within each bid and propose value engineering solutions. • Support bid proposals from concept through submission, ensuring compliance with public bidding procedures.
