ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Calculates the location of various stop, dowel pins, drill bushings, etc. • Selects the various types and methods of work holding. (Jigs and Fixtures) • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using mig welder. • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using tig welder. • Sets up and operate a cutting torch and hand held plasma cutter. • Knowledge of fabrication operation procedures, and basic mechanics of fabrication machinery and equipment • Set up, operate and perform minor maintenance on shear. • Set up, operate and perform minor maintenance on brake press. • Set up, operate and perform minor maintenance on mechanical power presses. • Other duties may be assigned. May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records. Follows all safety rules and practices.
