SADLER MACHINE also specializes in large CNC turning and milling of short run production and/or prototype parts. Other in-house departments include fabrication of weldments, CNC burn table, Blanchard grinding, stress relieving, and on-site machining. Located in Cedar Rapids, IA. Job qualifications include: • Minimum of 5 years experience in TIG, MIG, Carbon and Stainless Welding. Fabrication and assembly of parts a plus. • Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders. • Strong mechanical understanding. • Assure proper weld lengths and fillet sizes. • Performs occasional grinding on parts and welds. • Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, cranes, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job. • Self-motivated, strong team player, accept responsibility & accountability and demonstrate flexibility. • Highly motivated and possess good organizational, oral and written communication skills. • Results and customer service motivated. Our production floor comprises of a host of different crafts, each with their respective duties, and types of expertise. You will be a key team member responsible for performing the qualified welds with a high degree of quality and efficiency. FCAW and GMAW experience are required. Stainless steel experience a plus. The welder must successfully complete the required welding test, specific to type, material and position which allows the welder to be qualified within the Wabtec quality system. Base rate starting for this role is $19.00/hr. • Read and follow standard work, BOM's, blueprints, routings, specifications, and other diagrams/instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion. • Handle material, tools, and equipment manually or with jib crane, performing own hitching as required. • Maintain high quality standards. • Consistently maintains level of productivity as determined by management. • Layout, cut and fit parts as required to weld in place.
