Duties and Responsibility of Welders • Inspect welds for accuracy • Maintain clean, safe and organized work environment • Setting & adjusting settings of weld equipment • Occasionally use hand plasma • Occasionally reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures • Setting up components for welding according to specifications • Occasionally operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Welder Qualifications • Proficient with hand tools • Self-motivated • Problem Solver • Safety Conscious • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Some ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings • Good Attendance & Safety Record • Print Reading Preferred but Not Always Required • 1yr Minimum in Either Welding School or On the Job Welding Experience Required • Some experience with pulse MIG required Armor Lite provides competitive wages, room for advancement, affordable insurance including medical, dental, and vision, a vacation pay, holiday pay, and a 401k plan which the company matches after a year of investment.
