The hours for the 1st Shift are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm or 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime pay. The welded plate root and cover were bent to verify that there were no defects in the weld. Welds cannot have any defects such as porosity, undercut, concave, etc. Welds must be to code and cosmetically acceptable. Follow all safety regulations and encourage co-workers to follow safety regulations. • Follow all company policies and procedures and encourage co-workers to follow company policies and procedures. • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications. • Gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding. • Assemble and MIG weld parts following blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. • Conduct quality inspections of work. • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns. • Conducted repairs, modifications, and retrofits on production items. • Provide data to assist in monitoring and tracking project status. • Assist in training junior employees and inspecting their work. • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects. • Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work. • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques. • Actively participate in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture. • May perform various duties that do not always require hand welding. Welders could be assigned to operate various welding and non-welding equipment to meet customer demand. Qualifications • Relevant experience in MIG welding within the last 2 years. Welding Team Leaders

I. Primary Responsibilities § Manage production, associates, safety, and 5S. § Perform welding positions while maintaining quality, safety, productivity standards as well as performing minor maintenance of all associated equipment. § Practice and communicate standard work as the foundation for excellent quality, safety, 5S, productivity. § Capable of operating all weld cells, ability to fill in for all positions within the scope of welding department. § Ability to train others to perform welding function. § II. Essential Functions: § Understand Kanban system in welding, press, and shipping departments. § Operate weld cells in the event of an associate’s absence. § Fill-in as line support (supplier) in the event of their absence. § Know where all the press parts are located and the route of pick up if the supplier is absent or busy. § Adjust air pressure on weld cells if it is allowed. § Adjust current, weld, cycle and schedule by entering the program box under engineer’s direction. § Knowledge of weld timer. § Rotate and assign associates to a cell. § Ensure that enough parts are being produced and in the event that the cells are falling behind increase the number of employees in certain cells. § Collect and stock empty parts containers to the weld cells. § Knowledge and comprehension of quality control paperwork and checks. § Knowledge of conducting quality checks on every part. § Train all new hires. § Ensure that safety rules are being followed. § Ability to delegate duties to ensure that production runs efficiently. § Daily paperwork: non-conforming part forms are correctly completed on parts that are bad, need to be reworked, or put on hold. § Daily data entry-input date, part number, daily production, amount of scrap § Do kaizen activities for continuous improvement. III. Qualifications and Requirements · Good math, language, and reading skills. · Good physical condition, able to walk throughout work area observing operation. · Must have good mechanical understanding for troubleshooting equipment. · Flexibility in working different shifts than assigned. · Demonstrate leadership qualities. · Attention to details. · Quality-oriented. · Able to handle pressure in a fast paced work environment. · Excellent attendance record. · Ability to delegate responsibilities and willingness to adhere to supervisor or manager.
