Qualifications Guidelines Experience/Training/Education: Required: High school education or equivalent, basic welding knowledge, ability to read blueprints and recognize weld symbols Desired: 2+ years of experience in all position flux core wire, fitting experience. Welds subject to UT weld testing Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires good communication, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and follow instructions. Requires an eye for detail. Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow; Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; ability to accept constructive criticism; ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently; ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees. Physical and Environmental Elements: This is a production classification and employees work indoors (in all seasons) with exposure to heat, cold, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs. Need to have the ability to ascend and descent a ladder and/or scaffolding. Special Requirements/Certification: Welder will have no more than three attempts to meet the Welder Test Criteria. For each welding process welders are required to pass two full penetration groove weld tests. This will be to a backing stripped, one inch thick, 45 degree groove in the flat and horizontal positions. These will be radiographically tested and interpreted to AWS D14.1 criteria.
