Combo Pipe Welder – Blytheville, AR

Location: Blytheville, AR Pay Rate: Up to $31/ Hour + $125 Per Diem Hours: 48/Hours Week; Approximately 4 Months The Systems Group is looking for an energetic individual to be our next Combo Pipe Welder. We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day issues that pop up but also to be part of the big picture and contribute to the long-term strategy of our operations across the country. Combo Pipe Welder Job Responsibilities: • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before assembly • Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, plates, pipe, and tube or structural shapes, as specified by layout, blueprints, diagram, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment • Plan installation or repair to avoid obstructions and avoid interfering with the activities of other workers • Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools • Weld in any direction – flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions Benefits – Company subsidized health insurance, 401(k) plan with employer match, paid vacation, paid holidays, and opportunities for continuing education. Combo Pipe Welder Job Skills: • Must be able to observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust the speed, voltage, amperage, or feed of the rod • Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans • Must be able to properly use tools • Must be able to weld both carbon steel and stainless steel pipe • Must be able to do basic math • Must be able to make precise measurements • Use stick, mig, tig, and flux core welding techniques to weld various components in varying positions Experience and Requirements: • Combo Pipe Welding in an industrial setting is preferred • OSHA Approved Met-Guard boots (annual company allowance provided) • Must be able to weld and pass qualification test coupons during pre-employment test • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen So, do you think you have what it takes to join The Systems Family? Welder - Pay Range • Paid WEEKLY • $15hr - $25hr Welder - Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish for fitting, painting, and shipping. • Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding. Gather equipment necessary to complete the job. • Clean welded pieces for next phase of processing. • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations. • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. • Perform non-essential functions as needed. Welder - Qualifications • Minimum of 1-2 years' welding experience required. • Must be able to read and comprehend welding symbols and instructions. • Must be able to read and understand structural drawings. • Must be able to pass a tape measure test. • Must have ability to pass an unlimited thickness groove plat test in the vertical and overhead positions using FCAW and SMAW. • Must be able to carbon arc gouge the back side of butt joints to sound metal. Welder - Physical Demands • Ability to lift at least 80 pounds frequently. • Considerable amounts of overtime and weekend work may be required. • Excessive amounts of bending and stooping in order to weld in difficult positions. • Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, and a dusty/noisy work environment. • All of the physical demands listed are essential functions. This position is deemed 'safety sensitive.' Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Lexicon; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
