Structural Welder Job Responsibilities: • Layout, fabrication, and assembly of angle iron, I-beams, and various other shaped metals • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch, straightening press, and other hand tools. Welder - Pay Range • Paid WEEKLY • $15hr - $25hr Welder - Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish for fitting, painting, and shipping. • Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding. Gather equipment necessary to complete the job. • Clean welded pieces for next phase of processing. • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations. • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. • Perform non-essential functions as needed. Welder - Qualifications • Minimum of 1-2 years’ welding experience required. • Must be able to read and comprehend welding symbols and instructions. • Must be able to read and understand structural drawings. • Must be able to pass a tape measure test. • Must have ability to pass an unlimited thickness groove plat test in the vertical and overhead positions using FCAW and SMAW. • Must be able to carbon arc gouge the back side of butt joints to sound metal. Welder - Physical Demands • Ability to lift at least 80 pounds frequently. • Considerable amounts of overtime and weekend work may be required. • Excessive amounts of bending and stooping in order to weld in difficult positions. • Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, and a dusty/noisy work environment. • All of the physical demands listed are essential functions. Required Qualifications: • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience. • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in coal mining, sawmill, and/or automotive plant environments. • Strong welding experience, particularly in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with the ability to work with a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, etc.). • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems. • Valid driver’s license, Millwright Certification, or equivalent trade qualification required. • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures. Must be capable of lifting heavy parts and materials as needed. • Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and precision. • Must adhere to all safety protocols and always demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.
