Welder - Fabricator

Job Title: Welder - Fabricator Job Description This position involves working as a fabricator who reads blueprints and performs welding tasks for a structural steel fabrication company. The role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and comfort with using technology such as iPads. The ideal candidate should have experience with Mig, Flux core, and metal core welding, particularly with steel or metal. Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints accurately. • Perform Mig/Flux core/metal core welding on steel or metal. • Ensure welds pass visual inspection, x-ray, or other nondestructive tests as required. • Construct all structural pieces following the drawings and standards for each job. • Layout, torch cut, grind, tack weld, and operate overhead cranes. • Follow all work instructions provided by the Production Supervisor and/or QC Inspector. • Engage in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives. • Perform all tasks safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Essential Skills • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. • Ability to weld and fabricate using Mig/Flux core/metal core welding techniques. • Comfortable with using iPads for reading blueprints. • Experience with angle line and saw operation. • Proficient in operating machines and overhead cranes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Must pass a MIG steel weld test per AWS code requirements. • Ability to tack weld, torch cut accurately, and gouge. • Willingness to adapt to varying workload demands.
