Pipe Test: 2” Sch 10 Stainless Steel w/purge on a 5G position with GTAW as a workmanship test (no qualification at this point) Once visually accepted above you will be required to take a 2.75” XXXH Carbon Steel on a 6G position also with GTAW w/o purge ¼” gap max, 5/32” cap/root reinforcement max, 1/32”under cut max. • Grinding on the root is NOT permitted, except for feathering tie ins. • Excessive grinding can result in a failed test • Contact inspector before removing test pieces. • Automatic failure for not cleaning weld test booth once welding is completed. • Once visually passes it goes to Volumetric testing.
