In this role, you will apply your welding skills to fabricate and repair compactors, containers, and carts under general supervision. Key Responsibilities • Perform basic welding processes and minor repairs on compactors, containers, and carts. • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems. • Utilize various welding techniques, including arc welding, gas welding, brazing, and soldering on multiple materials. • Ensure all safety checks are conducted on the equipment. • Document repairs and parts usage using our fleet maintenance software. • Assist senior welders with project work and service calls. • Perform related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, and notching of metal and plastic components. • Complete all work in accordance with established safety standards and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). • Interpret prints, drawings, and verbal instructions effectively. • Maintain a clean and safe work area compliant with corporate and OSHA standards. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications • Experience: Minimum 2 years in welding required. • Skills: Proficiency in welding techniques, safety practices, and operating relevant tools and equipment. • Capable of completing repairs on various compactors and containers. Work Environment • Motor coordination with finger dexterity for most of the workday. • Physical effort required for handling objects weighing less than 50 pounds occasionally. • Occasional exposure to physical risks, dirt, odors, and noise. • Normal work setting is a repair/maintenance shop.
