Due to the materials and processes involved in welding and fabrication, candidates should expect a workplace where personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential and clothing may become dirt Qualifications/ Needs: - Must be a certified welder - Must be able to read/ understand blue prints - Weld sizes according to welding procedures, chip weld with chipping hammer and clean welds with 4" grinder - Clean all (personal) spatter - Welds should be checked with welding guages, then moved to finish area according to job # (specs) - Must be physically able to perform all aspects of the job in the Mill's Environment - Must have 2-3 years of on job experience & have Flux Core weld experience - Welder, blue prints, chipping hammer, grinder, welding guage, and welding hood - Hard hat, safety glasses, leather gloves, hearing protection and steel toed metatarsal Preferred (but not required): • Vocational training or certification from an accredited welding program. • AWS Certified Welder (CW) certification. • Experience with automated welding systems.
