JOB DESCRIPTION: • Performs structural carbon, galvanized and stainless-steel welding • Performs plasma and oxygen cutting • Able to weld, layout, cut and fit parts to meet drawing tolerances • Regulate current, voltage and select proper tips, rods and sizes for various types of welding according to individual job requirements • Manipulate electrode in proper sequence and use care to lay smooth and even bead of required width. (Avoid undercutting of metal) • Perform iron work, arc gouging, blueprint reading • Use hand or power tools to clean equipment after welding • Perform experimental work for non-standard parts • Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision • Perform necessary material handling associated with the job • Maintain and record labor, production records in relation to time, quality, quantity and other records • Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards • May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties.
