Job Title: Welder and Fitter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding components in various positions, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. You will play a crucial role in monitoring processes to prevent defects and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. • Move pieces into position manually or using hoists or cranes. • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating or warping. • Examine work for defects and ensure it conforms to specifications. • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the industry. • Operate equipment safely and maintain safe work habits. • Clean and maintain work areas to eliminate possible hazards. • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules. • Verify work conforms to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes. • Lay out and examine metal stock or pieces to ensure specifications are met. • Locate and mark work pieces, bending and cutting lines. • Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, and bolt straps for welding. • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and bolt component parts for welding. • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors. See More Details >>Job Summary: The Welder will primarily use pre-made jigs with pre-cut and prepared parts to assemble and finish weld our equipment. The Welder will be using MIG welders, hand tools, power tools, and hoists. Duties/Responsibilities: •Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. •Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting and welding techniques and equipment. •Monitors the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. •Prepares, assembles, and tack welds parts and surfaces to be welded. •Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. •Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. •Performs other related duties as assigned. •Works in a timely, efficient fashion to keep up with production quotas. •Operate a hoist for heavier equipment. Education and Experience: •Some welding experience required. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to weld components that are vertical or flat. • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for work. • Must be able to see details at close range. • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times. • Must be physically able to perform required tasks. • Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures.
