Position Title Welding Technology Faculty (Full-Time) FLSA Exempt FT/PT Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Work Schedule M-F; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Grade F2 Compensation Range $80,000 Summary SALARY LISTED IS ONLY THE MINIMUM STARTING POINT. ACTUAL SALARY FOR THE POSITION IS NEGOTIABLE. The Business, Engineering and Technology division seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered 10-month full-time faculty member to teach in the Welding Technology Department. The candidate of choice may be asked to teach some or all of the courses in the Welding program. The ideal candidate should be solutions-oriented, have a passion for teaching, a growth mindset, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The teaching load is 15 credits per semester. Release time may be available for course coordination. In addition, faculty are expected to maintain at least five (5) office hours per week (as described in the Faculty Handbook) while class is in session and accept other responsibilities as assigned by the leadership. Essential Role Responsibilities • Teach courses in the subjects described above • Faculty may be asked to teach day or evening courses across modalities (hybrid, face-to-face, online, etc.) and in accelerated (7-weeks); 10-week and 15-week course formats • Coordinate courses, participate in enrollment management, support and coach adjunct faculty • Prepare syllabi and Canvas sites • Develop and update course materials • Participate in program management and learning outcome assessment initiatives • Work collaboratively with faculty, and other course coordinators and staff to implement departmental programs • Provide service to the department, division, and college • Attend and actively participate in meetings; keep informed • Respond promptly to requests for information and assistance from students and college administrators • Participate in commencement ceremonies and other significant institutional events • Pursue teaching improvement and professional development • Work cooperatively, respectfully, and effectively with peers, support staff, and administrators; use appropriate communication channels Minimum Education Required High School or equivalent Experience Required 10 + Preferred Experience Minimum Education Required A high school diploma plus a minimum of 15 years of work experience in the welding field. Must possess a Certified Welding Education (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Preferred AAS degree or higher in Welding Technology plus 10 years of work experience in the welding technology field and AWS Certification. Required Qualifications • Demonstrated experience using a range of teaching and learning methods/pedagogies • Demonstrated success in creating inclusive learning environments of belonging • Evidence of outstanding interpersonal skills, including ability to engage with, teach, and learn from a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and flexibly, and to take ownership and accountability in work • Proficient in Microsoft Office; demonstrated ease with technology • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication Preferred Qualifications • Advising Student chapters of related disciplines, and supervising student clubs/competitions • 2 years of direct teaching experience in Welding Technology Physical Demand Summary Classroom work environment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior co-worker and/or supervisor. Work Environment • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness. • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Federal Work Study - Welding Program

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a type of financial aid awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and who meet eligibility criteria. FWS provides part-time opportunities at the campus that accommodate the student's academic schedule. FWS students receive various assignments working in the campus departments to support staff and fellow students. A campus representative assigns tasks to the FWS students and serves as a point of contact for the student. FWS students are limited to working no more than 20 hours/week.
