Welder - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Welder - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $20.83 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What You’ll Do The Welder is responsible for operating Robotic Welders and Tangent Bender in accordance with SOP/VOP to assure a quality product is received by our customers. The Welder is also responsible for welding various metal joints and intersections of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel together. They will weld racks, blocks, and other miscellaneous items as needed. Both TIG and MIG wire feed welding is utilized. The Welder needs knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Provide prompt and efficient service with emphasis on quality of work. Work from list of catalog numbers and various reports. Use welding equipment as well as material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, overhead hoist, and an assortment of air and common hand tools. Attend LOTO and General Electrical Safety Training each year. Work Safely to prevent on-the-job injuries. Report on-the-job injuries and unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours. • You will work in Bottom Weld, Tangent Bender and Cover Weld areas • You will operate Welding Robot Work Cell - Fanuc Robot ARC Mate model 100i, ArcTool Software, and System R-J2 Controller • You will start-up, change over, and shutdown robot weld operations and tangent bender operations • You will teach robot when changes to tank sizes dictates • You will obtain internal forklift Certification and Hoist/Crane training • You will visually inspect welder torch and wire feeder. Clean wire feed at shift start. Review current PPE condition and replace if needed. • You will operate welding equipment and make equipment adjustments as needed to maintain quality welds. • You will produce a quality weld, according to our standards • You will achieve daily production goals • You will perform touch up welds when necessary • You will train new operators when necessary Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED • Welding Diploma from an accredited one-year program. • Degree must show evidence of being able to weld in the four main positions: flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead on both structured steel and pipe, as well as meeting quality standards through practical weld tests as specified by the American Welding Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Codes and Requirements. The degreed program should also be able to demonstrate classes in welding processes, together with a good foundation in blueprint reading and sketching. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Corporate Sponsorship • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Greenwood, South Carolina – no relocation will be provided for this role. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you'll do:Position Overview:The Welder will Set-up and perform metal joining and cutting operations, with ferrous and nonferrous metals such as (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, and cast metals), with or without fixtures, using a variety of welding and brazing equipment, robot welders and housing saw.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. In this function you will:• Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.• Sustainment of 5S+ in area.• Receive work assignments from supervisor or production control system.• Input information into data collection system as required.• Work from manufacturing information, sketches, drawings, oral and written instructions.• Weld parts using proper machine settings and rod or wire and gas selections.• Manually locate details on complex assemblies in welding sequence for a variety of non-repetitive structural assembly fabrication, with or without fixtures.• Design and fabricate fixtures to aid in the welding process.• Measure and align material, insuring dimensions conform to sketches and or drawings.• Weld, grind, and chip parts as required insuring a clean and quality part.• Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as oiling, manual clamp adjustments, and clamp/finger replacement.• Frequently pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs; frequently lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, use material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and position heavy loads.• Be familiar with all materials used to perform job functions. Follow material safety data sheet instructions.• Utilize calipers, gauges, or other measuring devices to assure engineering standards to the .001 precision level.• Perform statistical process control on machinery, as required.• Flex to fabrication work areas as needed, including braze weld, robot weld, housing weld, Geka shear, coil machine, housing saw, accessory bend, press brake, downdraft, masking, and housing punch.Essential Functions: • Lifting up to 50 lbs.• Pushing and/or pulling up to 100 lbs.• Fine motor skills, typing, pushing buttons, etc.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship• Must reside within a 50 mile radius from work sitePreferred qualifications: • Minimum 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment• Minimum three (3) months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)• Minimum three (3) months of experience utilizing Eaton system controls including material management.• Minimum 3 months of experience using hand and air tools• Prior welding experience or certification• South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalentSkills:Position Criteria: • Proven problem-solving skills. • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills. • Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focusWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
