JOB SUMMARY: Performs routine, repetitive-type mig, automatic, and/or robot weld operations as assigned, utilizing blueprints, drawings, specifications, jigs, fixtures, tooling, and computer programs (robot welder) as required. Consistently produces welds to meet ANSI/AWS D1.1 standards currently specified. Makes routine first-part and in-process quality checks, utilizing precision measuring instruments to ensure that parts and/or products being produced are accurate to applicable specifications. Maintains continuous check on weld machine (automatics and robot) operations. Performs routine preventive maintenance on weld machines. Maintains a clean and organized work area. At all times, works in a safe manner. Responsible for quality and efficient output to meet customer service and profit objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(including but not limited to): 1) Working at the direction of the Production Supervisor, weld parts to blue print specifications on a variety of conventional weld equipment to meet certification requirements. 2) Record, in a timely manner, accurate production/material usage information to ensure the integrity and record accuracy of labor tracking, production control, and physical inventory. 3) Conduct first-part and other quality checks required. 4) Using precision measuring instruments, ensure that parts/products meet all design specifications. 5) Perform routine preventive maintenance on weld machines and other equipment. 6) Work in other departments and job classifications as assigned. 7) Train others as assigned. 8) Keep machines and immediate area clean, neat and organized. 9) Facilitate the work of Great Bend industries by accomplishing assigned responsibilities in a timely, effective and efficient manner. 10) Work well with others to accomplish company objectives. 11) Work in a safe manner, supporting, by example, the Company’s safety policies. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Production Supervisor, Plant Superintendent and other designated company officials. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1) Coordinate with Production Supervisor, Dispatcher, Production Supervisors of other departments, Material Handlers, QA Inspectors, and others to complete the production schedule with quality product and ensure on-time shipments to customers. 2) Collaborate with all personnel to identify opportunities for improvement and take action to implement them. 3) Cooperate with Safety Committee members in the identification and correction of unsafe conditions and in other safety-related matters.
