Headquartered in Ponca City, OK, our company is searching for a Field Welder to travel to jobsites across the United States. A Field Welder is expected to work with the team to construct above-ground steel storage tanks in the Field, as well as perform repairs, maintenance, and retrofits on existing tanks. This job does require overtime. Work schedule varies but is usually 10 hours/day. This is a traveling position. Qualifications: Be safety conscious and perform all duties safely. Possess knowledge and ability to perform welding and associated duties. Be able to pass a weld test. Possess the ability, strength, and flexibility to do physical labor such as climb ladders, stairs, walk on scaffolding, work overhead, lift 40-50 lbs., manually move weld leads, assist in moving, unloading, hanging, and fitting steel plate, and other strenuous tasks. Be able to wear all personal protective equipment necessary for the job safety requirements, and work in all weather conditions. Provide own reliable transportation to jobs across contiguous United States. Pass a DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol test and required safety tests. Be able to read and write with comprehension and communicate with field superintendent and the office personnel. Welder Job Description Job description involves applying gtaw welding techniques to produce extremely strong joints on galvanize and stainless-steel duct work. Must be able to Mig, Tig and Stick weld. Must be able to operate tools such as: grinders, welding equipment, squares, and drills. You also are responsible for selecting and installing all the consumables for the welding process. Must be knowledgeable to regulate gas flow by turning the flow meter to the appropriate amount. You should also have knowledge of where to set the machine for proper penetration. The job will also entail being able to read and interpreting welding blueprints for the lay out, measure, and align metal work pieces by using straightedges, clamps, and calipers prior to welding. You will also, assess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with our quality standards.
