Vector Tooling Technologies is seeking Fabricators / Welders who are looking to apply their current skills while gaining exposure to many different types of complex welding techniques on a wide variety of metals. This individual will read prints and fit, weld and assemble component under minimal supervision. Job Duties & Description • Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, specifications and weld procedures to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished weldment. • Building complex assemblies • Measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining or fabrication operations as required by router instructions and good shop practice. • Using precision measuring instruments. • Operating hand tools and other shop equipment such as grinders, positioners, turn rolls, etc. • Performing the lay out, fit-up and assembly of weldments. • Welding multiple materials utilizing multiple weld processes. • Performing material handling functions using fork trucks, overhead cranes, etc. • Entering correct data into data collection system. • Monitoring and maintaining proper cleanliness of machines and work area on a daily basis. • Using safe grinding techniques. • Works in a typical fabrication shop environment. Occasionally called upon to work overtime. Working conditions may vary according to weather. Requires ability to work in heat and cold. Skills and Qualifications · CWI Certification or ability to obtain certification promptly is required. · Excellent print reading and mechanical visualization skills · Differentiate between channel, angle, flat bar, square tube, pipe etc. • Pass basic plate weld test (visual and bend) within specified time requirements • G.M.A.W. - Mild steel: 1G, 2G and 3G position (MIG welding) • G.T.A.W. - Stainless and aluminum: 1G, 2G, and 3G position (TIG welding) • Requires experience MIG welding (GMAW). TIG welding (GTAW) experience is a plus. • Material familiarity with carbon and stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and aluminum • Must know how to calculate Arc length and circumference • Must be able to work well in a team environment • Understand concerns, and gain cooperation to solve problems quickly and effectively. • Must be efficient and productive with time and possess a good work ethic and good attendance record • Must be able to make all welds uniform and clean, and complete work to customer's specifications. • Maintain safe environment while following company and industry standards · Communicate effectively and professionally with manufacturing staff and customers · Versatile team member willing to drive company success and contribute in many different ways About Vector Vector Tooling Technologies specializes in the design and manufacturing of custom tooling products for the aerospace and plastics industries.
