SUMMARY: The Experienced Welder has experience with a variety of materials to fabricate new parts, equipment, construction elements and more. Will be responsible for skillful handling of many types of metal and numerous fabrication tools; working independently and with teams, in the recycling plants, on the rail, and more. QUALIFICATIONS: In order to perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Experience must be in construction, or industry atmosphere. Knowledge of industrial safety (OSHA and EPA regulations.) • Language and Communication Skills: Ability to read, write and interpret in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Valid Driver’s License with good record required. • Physical Demands: “Heavy”: Exerting up to 40lbs of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Standing, walking, stooping and bending required often. Must be able to see, listen and respond to dangerous situations. • Work Environment: Usually working outdoors with occasional work indoors or working in various weather conditions. • Must Have Own Tools ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conducts repairs and preventive welding maintenance service; maintains production facilities and quality control by ensuring reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment; provides repairs of production equipment , plant facility scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Complies with OSHA safety/ health rules. • Able to use equipment such as torches, gas powered welders, mig welding, flux core and a plasma cutter. • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. • Perform daily preventive maintenance checks. • Assist in the regular cleanup of the maintenance area. • Wear proper safety equipment. • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated manager. SUMMARY OF POSITION Kinsley is currently seeking personnel for our mechanical trades with experience in Millwrighting & Welding based out of our Hagerstown, MD Office. Our work includes machinery moving, complete facility relocate, plant maintenance, field fabrication, piping disconnects and reconnects, and installation of various material handling systems. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Use instruments for precise layout. • Perform rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation and loading/unloading trucks. • Perform steel erection including shake out, connections and detail work. • Perform installation of miscellaneous metals • Perform installation of conveyors, dryers, and other material handling equipment • Perform installation of equipment and piping in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants • Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting. • Working at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc. is required. • Must be willing to work some weekends as needed for client shutdowns. • Must be willing to travel for “out of town” jobs as needed and some will require overnight stay. REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma or GED is required. • 3-5 years of experience is preferred but not required. • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening. • Current driver’s license is required. • Ability to operate man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, etc. is a plus. • Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations. • Must be familiar with working around cranes and hand signals. • Willingness to multitask and strong communications skills are required. • Strong math skills are essential. • Welding with experience in MIG and stick welding in all positions is preferred. • Previous work experience installing equipment in heavy industry and/or the mining industry is preferred. Responsibilities of duties include: • Ensures that all piece parts called out on the assembly drawing are present and/or accounted for. • Ensures that the component is straight, square, and within tolerance in all dimensions before installation of hardware. • Installs hardware in accordance with the customer specifications as shown on the drawings or any other applicable work instructions. • Installs the various piece parts in accordance with plans. • Ensures that final assembly is within the tolerances specified by the work order and blueprints. • Accounts for all hardware issued for the job and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor. • Be cost effective in utilization of tools, supplies, and equipment. • Responsible for the complete and independent setup of the Haeger presses and various other specialty tools needed to install hardware. • Cut, trim and glue gasket material as directed by blueprints. • Ensures proper assembly of products according to customer supplied specifications and that the product is within specified tolerances. • Inspects own work and the work of other employees to verify compliance with the customer specifications. • Maintains equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. • Records labor hours as required in the Mie Trak system. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications for the Welder/Fabricator - Metal Assembler: • Must have experience in metal production assembly. • Must read blueprint. • Have an eye for detail and quality. • Solid assembler with manufacturing experience, responsible for the assembly of a wide variety of products of various sizes under the direction of the Finishing supervisor. • 2+ years of experience • High school diploma or GED • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and other manuals and documents. • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors. • Willing and able to pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
