Welder/Fabricator II (Swing Shift)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator II to join our dynamic Fabrication department at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation and maintenance of various metal structures and components, playing a crucial part in our production process. As a Welder/Fabricator II, a typical day will include the following: • Train less experienced staff to set up and manually operate the CNC equipment to produce complex parts to specification. • Train others about manufacturability. Promptly share relevant information with stakeholders. • Improve processes and capable of executing required maintenance activities. • Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. • Understand. This job might be for you if you have: • Trade school degree or 6 years of shop experience • Advance experience in the field required • Proficient with applicable computer software as relevant • Service attitude, quality and OTP for internal customer • Strong math skills • Ability to accurately measure parts • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills • Ability to teach and learn new skills, open to take on new responsibilities, and train others • Ability to motivate others to work cooperatively in a team environment • Background check results satisfactory to SEL • Negative drug test result(s) Physical Requirements: • Lift and maneuver 40 pounds • Pull weight from high/low shelves • Reach • Bend • Grip • Twist • Sit and/or stand at least 8 hours • Fine finger dexterity Location Information: Pullman, WA- This position is located in Pullman, WA. Steel Fabricator/Welder

As a Manufacturing Technician / Production Associate, you'll operate equipment such as a vertical grinder to grind or polish glass edges and a Forvet machine to drill and chamfer holes in glass panels. • Ensure smooth production flow by tracking, locating, and recording edger output according to schedule. • Maintain quality standards and safety protocols during all operations. • Assist in setup and troubleshooting of machinery to optimize process efficiency. • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Welder (Day Shift)

This position is based at our new yard located in Maltby (Snohomish County). Initial training will take place at our South Seattle yard. THE ROLE Responsible for welding and repair in an effort to maintain equipment in safe and effective operating conditions. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF WELDER • Schedules, maintains, services and repairs containers used to recycle, dispose and haul industrial commercial and residential waste. • Rebuilds containers that require removal and replacement. • Welds repairs of the containers; paints and decals the new containers. • Provides systematic safety inspection of containers to established standards. • Assists management in the purchase of new equipment or supplies as required. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: • Two years of welding and fabrication experience. • Waste and recycling industry experience preferred. • Expert knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques. • Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards. • Basic computer programs. • High school diploma or GED. • Graduation from a trade school preferred. • Valid Class "B" driver’s license.
