The Washington Aqueduct is seeking a Welder in providing maintenance support for our water treatment plants and facilities. This position is responsible for providing welding services to maintain and keep our Plant operating at maximum capacity and without interruption. To Be Successful You Will Be • Knowledgeable in pipe welding skills and processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW) and positions (e.g., 1G, 2G, 5G, 6G). • Able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and other project documents. • Able to design, modify, measure, determine proper angling, fabricate and weld steel plate, shapes, and piping. • Skilled using welding equipment, hand and power tools to cut, dismantle, straighten and reshape pipes. • Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision; establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees. • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
