You will be involved in fitting, laying out, and fabricating structural steel projects, performing tack welds to fabricate steel pieces for welders. Proficiency in MIG welding structural steel in both vertical and horizontal positions is required, with certification in 3G welding preferred, though training will be provided. Pay Rate: $20-$27/hour based on experience Shift: 1st shift Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm with Saturdays for overtime Responsibilities • Perform structural layout and fitting of steel according to blueprints. • Fit, lay out, and fabricate structural steel projects. • Conduct tack welds to fabricate steel pieces for welders. • MIG weld structural steel in vertical and horizontal positions. • Operate machining equipment like plasma cutters, shears, and presses. • Read blueprints using digital devices such as iPads. Essential Skills • Proficiency in fitting, blueprint reading, and welding. • Experience with structural steel fabrication. • Ability to MIG weld in 3G positions. • Familiarity with machining equipment operation. Work Environment Small family-owned welding/fabrication shop, exposed to varying temperatures. Collaborate with 15-20 others and operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment. The first shift runs from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with overtime starting at 5:00 am, including Saturdays. Bring your own hood and steel-toed boots as tools are supplied.
