Job DescriptionWelder/Fabricator A well-established manufacturing company is searching for a Welder/Fabricator to join their team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication and be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Welder/Fabricator Responsibilities: Welding and fabricating a variety of industrial components and structures using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate and precise welding Operating welding equipment, including welding guns and plasma cutters Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards Maintaining a clean and organized work area Adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures Welder/Fabricator Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (Required) 3+ years of experience in production as a Welder or Fabricator Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 50lbs Ability to pass a welding test. TIG Welder

Description About the Role We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will weld manufactured parts and sub-assemblies using various welding methods as appropriate to the materials used. You will be responsible for locating and welding parts using TIG and MIG welding equipment to meet blueprint specifications. Duties And Responsibilities • Use jigs, fixtures, and assembly blueprints to prepare for welding. • Locate positions and weld parts using TIG and MIG welding equipment as specified in blueprints. • Adjust welding equipment to the desired amperage and wire feed. • Troubleshoot as needed to resolve issues and ensure efficient production. • Proficiently use a variety of hand tools, including but not limited to TIG welding tools, MIG welding tools, spot welding tools, a stud gun, hand grinder, and drill. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. • Assist other departments as directed. Qualifications And Essential Functions • Able to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and travelers. • Adept at using small hand and power tools. • Knowledge of shop measurement techniques. • Good paperwork and counting skills. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks such as bending, sitting, and standing repeatedly. • Able to work and interact in a "Team" oriented department. • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Welder - Fitter 1st - M-TH 6am-4:30pm (RexCon)

Astec is a global infrastructure and manufacturing company of concrete and asphalt road building and aggregate processing. About the Position Under the direction and supervision of the department supervisor, weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule. • Adhere to all safety rules and perform work at a quality level • Read and understand assigned blueprints prior to starting a project. • Participate in process and product development and improvement programs. • Accurately inspect metal prior to welding to ensure clean welds. • Perform grinding operations that comply with Astec's standards. Key Activities & Responsibilities • Ability to perform grinding and be able to pass a required welding skills test. • Necessary to be able to do all Grinder tasks. • Must be able to safely perform gang-welding techniques (dos and don'ts). • Must be able to safely weld vertical, flat, and overhead with both MiG and stick. • Must inspect metal prior to welding for smoothness and acceptability and clean welds to presentable state (grinding operations). • Must work with Fitters on proper assembly of equipment. • Keep work area clean and neat. • Clock in on assigned jobs as appropriate. • Ensure welding machine settings are appropriate for work to be performed. • Must be able to safely use cranes and forklifts. • Must be trained in and know PPE requirements for welding including hood and filter shades and arm/body protection. • Must be able to read and understand weld symbols. • Must maintain welding machines by keeping them clean and changing liners in the welding guns. • Follows company policies and procedures at all times. • Follows proper safety rules and procedures at all times. • Performs other duties as assigned. To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are: • High School Diploma or GED required. • 0-1 Year of Welding experience required. • Heavy equipment manufacturing experience preferred. • Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse and locate and open/close programs/files. • Knowledge and ability to perform all Grinder tasks required. • Ability to properly and safely MiG weld, stick weld, and arc gouging required. • Ability to read and understand weld symbols required.
