(based upon experience) • HOURS: 6:00am - 4:00pm 40/50 hours a week • START DATE: asap • DURATION: 12 to 18 months Solar Field Technician Lead We are searching for a Solar Field Technician with a significant background in solar installation, framing or construction. The ideal candidate will be well versed in large scale utility solar installations to best support the advancements of the project. This position offers the ability to play an integral role in the success of the business. The candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the function of the research and development team, and their projects. This will include assisting in conducting testing on newly designed products, assembly and construction of testing rigs/customized solar racking solutions, and the monitoring of existing long-term testing for accuracy and performance. Responsibilities: • The Solar tech lead will be leading a crew of 4 to 6 and must have management/leadership experience in renewable energy (Solar background.) • Installation and maintenance of solar equipment • Capable of repairing solar panel systems. • Assess installation sites • Connect solar panels to the power grid. • Troubleshoot system problems to ensure efficient operation and maximal electricity generation. • Assist management to complete task assignments in a timely manner, and request resources as needed. • Tasks may include travel to other sites within driving distance with management or independently as needed. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. • Comply with all OSHA, job site and construction safety procedures. • Assisting the R&D team in the preparation, conducting and recording of testing. • Fabrication of prototype racking components for use in testing. • Accurate and consistent construction of racking systems according to prints and instructions. • Monitoring and management of long-term testing setups, conducting maintenance and repairs where required. • Documenting and reporting of damages observed during testing for analysis. • Tracking and reporting inventory of newly arrived samples for testing. • Tracking and reporting the movement and use of existing materials and samples on site. • Communicating consistently with all members of the team to maintain efficiency of operations. • Observing and ensuring the safe working conditions for all members of the team. Qualifications for Solar Tech Lead: • Must be able to lift 50 lbs • Must be willing to travel within the state. • This position is outdoor and indoor.
