Position Description Origis Services, LLC is a rapidly expanding Operations and Maintenance provider in the United States. Our solar asset portfolio continues to increase at a near exponential rate, with a mixture of Owner developed and constructed sites and third-party sites contracted, or already under management. The position of Solar Technician is responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, test, repair, and install equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. About the position StraightUp Solar, a fast-growing, locally owned solar installation company, is seeking a Full Time - Senior Solar Service Technician for its St. Louis office. The Senior Solar Service Technician serves as the troubleshooter and problem solver for StraightUp Solar's Solar Array Portfolio. This position also manages the customer experience through warranty claims and production questions or concerns. This position reports to the Service Manager and works within the Service Team. The Senior Solar Service Technician will drive a company vehicle to multiple service calls a day, delivering high levels of customer service by addressing customers' questions and concerns and effectively communicating system specifications, performance metrics, and variances. This role requires a subject-matter expert on processes associated with the installation of PV Systems, including knowledge of equipment specifications for inverters, batteries, and other major components used in PV arrays. The technician will also be responsible for testing, measuring, and interpreting circuits to troubleshoot system performance, completing service ticket paperwork, and maintaining accurate knowledge of processes and systems that support the service department. Additionally, the technician will train and mentor other field technicians and develop material and labor estimates for solar service repairs. Responsibilities • Drive a company vehicle to multiple service calls a day: homes, schools, and businesses located across Eastern Missouri, Metro East, and Southern Illinois. , • Deliver high level of customer service by addressing customers' questions and concerns and effectively communicating system specifications, performance metrics, and variances. , • Be a subject-matter expert on processes associated with the installation of PV Systems, including knowing equipment specifications for inverters, batteries, and combiner panels. , • Read 1-line electrical drawings and building plans and maintain a strong understanding of PV design requirements. , • Test, measure, and interpret circuits up to 480VAC/1000VDC to troubleshoot system performance. , • Complete Service Ticket paperwork after service visit via cloud-based database. , • Communicate with other departments internally as necessary to ensure customer expectations are met. , • Maintain accurate knowledge of processes and systems that support the service department. , • Train and mentor other field technicians on new products, tools, and methods to improve efficiency and consistency of service. , • Develop material and labor estimates for solar service repairs. , • Perform other duties as assigned.
