Solar Installer - St. Louis area resident, 70% travel, home most weekends

Position Responsibilities: • Adhere to StraightUp Solar and OSHA safety standards • Install quality PV installation to system design specifications • Ensure that layout, roof attachment, racking and module assembly, combiner box installation, home run wiring, and voltage testing meets expected quality standards • Complete electrical wiring of solar array (AC and DC) • Problem solve system layouts when design specifications require adjustment Essential Functions: • Stage materials and tools and load vans • Perform quality roof penetrations • Assemble racking, mounting systems and modules per specification • Ground and wire the modules and combiner box • Perform voltage testing • Assist with general ground support • Assist with general site preparation and clean up • Deliver a high level of customer service Requirements: • Must have a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and access to transportation to our warehouse • Lift 75 pounds repeatedly • Bend over and kneel on surfaces • Squat, crawl, twist in variety of ways • Drive power tools and use other small tools such as hammers and wrenches • Handle inclement weather • Sit in vehicle for long periods • Understand tool use and basic familiarity with construction practices • Must be organized and self-motivated • Must have excellent teamwork and communication skills including the ability to foster a positive team environment through collaborative decision-making Preferred Knowledge and Skills: • Understanding of grid-tied PV system design, electrical wire sizing, and conduit connections • Previous experience installing solar PV on the DC side of the system • Leadership Experience • NABCEP certification • OSHA-10 safety certification What We Offer: • Competitive hourly rate and advancement opportunities • Quarterly Profit Sharing • 2% Employer Matching 401(k) that is 100% vested • Company paid Life Insurance $50,000 • Monthly insurance stipend for all full time employees • Health (United Health Care), Dental, Vision, Short and Long Term Disability, Accident, Critical Illness, Life, Legal, and Dependent Care FSA coverage options • Wellness Program with Headspace App Stipend • Paid Time Off, 9 Holidays, Parental and Bereavement Leave, 8 hours paid Volunteer Time • Per Diem and lodging covered if / when there is out of town travel • Ongoing solar education and training classes - including our Electrical Apprenticeship and NABCEP certification options StraightUp Solar Culture: We provide a supportive team environment which allows everyone the opportunity to collaborate on ideas to improve the company. The driver's license must be active for a minimum of 4 years. • A clean driving record is required (no more than one moving violation in the past year and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 4 years). • A background check will be performed on all new hires. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with internal and external groups. • Ability to think critically, problem solve, and work in a fast-paced environment.
