O&M Solar Technician (Utility) This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a Solar Services company in Allen Parish, Louisiana Job Description: Pay Rate: Starting at $30/hr or more depending on experience plus Medical, Vision and Dental Benefits under a W-2 Contract to Hire Responsibilities: Troubleshoot daily project system issues to meet uptime goals. Provide operation, maintenance and troubleshooting training to operators and others as needed. Diagnose and troubleshoot various project systems issues such as inverters, switchgear, transformers, breakers, communications equipment, etc. Understand hourly production output targets and if there is any danger of not meeting them, execute a plan for correction or elevation of the situation. Follow maintenance schedules and perform routine maintenance (PMs, start-up tests, etc.) on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed before elevating the problems to Operations & Maintenance Manager. Identify potential problems and suggest changes or corrective actions. Work with other members of the maintenance team, sub-contractors and other groups to continuously improve system performance, drive product quality and maintenance cost improvement. Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve resolution to plant issues. Ensure CMMS work orders are complete in their entirety. Prepare documents necessary for procurement and utilization of materials and vendor services. Assist in developing standard operating documents for maintenance, operations and training. Requirements: Minimum 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in field work; renewable energy (Solar, wind or similar) environment is an asset. HS Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Summary The primary responsibility for the Equipment Technician position is collecting, analyzing, and reporting the health of rotating equipment based on multiple technologies including vibration, thermography, oil analysis, pump and motor performance, compressor and engine performance and key operating parameters. The requirements for this position are listed below: • Develop and maintain vibration analysis program. Establish equipment routes and frequency. Collect and enter equipment data necessary for proper vibration analysis. • Proficient with rotating and/or reciprocating equipment analysis techniques and perform as required • Proficient with motor and/or engine analysis techniques and perform as required • Develop and maintain lube oil analysis program establishing routes and frequency • Periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) data acquisition from equipment, including vibration data with portable systems, critical machinery performance metrics (flow rates, equipment rotating speed, temperatures, and process flow characteristics) and lube oil samples and analysis • Perform analysis of data to resolve or proactively anticipate equipment failures • Lead and/or assist in root cause failure analysis utilizing the TapRoot process • Implements continuous monitoring systems, such as alarm, report, and acceptance regions • Coordinate scheduling of repairs by taking ownership of notifications and corresponding follow-up • Monitor equipment repairs in the field and at vendor shops • Report equipment deficiencies in SAP system making recommendations for corrective action • Collaborate with responsible Maintenance/Reliability Specialist, engineers, planners, Operations Managers and supervisors to ensure proper priorities are placed on deficiencies and continuous learning/improvement process is fostered • Support the lubrication program by monitoring its effectiveness or, when required, take samples, interpret analysis and take corrective actions Required Education • High School Diploma or GED • Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level: • Level C requires a minimum of 0–2 years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience • Level B requires a minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in an oil and gas operations role or equivalent work experience Preferred Qualifications Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret and analyze data Working Conditions Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office suite.
