Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate engineering activities for the technical support, design, and development of commercial solar and energy storage systems. • Hire, supervise, support, and develop the engineering team. • Assist the engineering project management team as needed, learning all aspects of the team’s responsibilities. • Maintain strong relationships with clients. • Assess current SOPs and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement. • Ensure projects are completed efficiently, correctly, on schedule, and within budget. • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors. • Maintain relationships and manage expectations with engineering consultants and equipment vendors. • Review engineering work for accuracy and ensure compliance with engineering principles. • Review RFPs and contract documents. • Act as a liaison with Project Management on matters relating to engineering progress, quality, and scope issues on projects, as well as interface with customers on technical questions/concerns. • Research the latest technologies and best practices. Education & Experience • Degree in engineering, electrical. • 7+ years of engineering experience. • 2+ years of PV design engineering experience. • 2+ years of engineering management experience. • Battery/Storage experience. • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. • Project management and time management skills. • Expertise in building strong relationships. • Proficiency in understanding solar system design (Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVsyst). • NABCEP Design Specialist Certification. • Knowledge of Electric (NEC) and Fire codes. • Experience preparing electrical engineering design packages.
