Solar Technician

Solar Panel Technician Truegrid Solar LLC Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and physically capable technician to perform solar panel removal and reinstallation services for residential customers. This role focuses on the mechanical aspects of solar panel systems and does not require electrical knowledge or certification. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently on rooftops. Key Responsibilities • Detach solar panels from residential rooftops to allow for roofing, structural modifications, or other construction work • Reattach solar panels after external work completion, ensuring proper positioning and secure mounting • Handle solar panels, mounting hardware, rails, and related components with care • Support the lead tech in taking pictures of the panel layout and hardware configuration during removal for accurate reinstallation • Maintain organized work areas and protect customer property during all phases of work • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures Secondary Duties • Load and unload equipment and materials from company vehicles • Communicate job progress and any issues to supervisors • Complete required paperwork and documentation • Maintain company tools and equipment in good condition Required Qualifications • Physical fitness for rooftop work, including ability to climb ladders and work at heights • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly • No fear of heights and comfort working on various roof types and pitches • Valid driver's license with clean driving record • Ability to work in various weather conditions • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions from the lead technician Preferred Qualifications • Previous roofing, construction, or solar industry experience • Experience with power tools and mechanical systems • Basic understanding of residential construction or roofing Physical Requirements • Ability to work on rooftops for extended periods • Comfortable climbing ladders up • Ability to crouch, kneel, and maintain balance on sloped surfaces • Manual dexterity for handling hardware and tools • Clear vision for identifying mounting points and hardware Work Environment • Outdoor work environment on residential rooftops • Exposure to various weather condition • Potential exposure to dust and debris • Use of safety equipment including harnesses and hard hats Employment Details The Employee is hired by Truegrid Solar LLC as a W-2 employee and will comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws. The Company will be responsible for: • Withholding and remitting all applicable payroll taxes • Providing necessary tools, equipment, and safety training • Maintaining required insurance coverage, including workers' compensation Job Performance & Communication Employees are expected to complete assigned tasks efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company standards. If any issues arise that may affect job completion or safety, the employee must immediately notify their supervisor.
