About the position D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Assistant to support the Construction Department with various administrative duties. The role involves managing paperwork flow between the central office, contractors, and the field office, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and organized. The ideal candidate will contribute to the efficiency of construction operations and maintain accurate records and reports. Role Summary The Carpenter 1 will be responsible for performing general carpentry and concrete tasks on a variety of construction projects including new construction, renovations, and other project types. Carpenters utilize a variety of tools and specialized equipment. Duties may include concrete, rough, and finish carpentry. Role responsibilities are not all encompassing as specific work tasks, project types, and build phases drastically vary. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. • Autonomy and Decision-Making: Follows directions and refers all exceptions to supervisor. • Career Path: Carpenter 2 Key Role Responsibilities - Core CARPENTER FAMILY - CORE • Working knowledge of all concrete tools and carpentry hand tools. • Basic understanding and use of principles of layout and construction math as necessary per project needs. • Sets forms for concrete including but not limited to foundations, SOG, bulkheads. • Placement of concrete with bucket, chute, pump and placement procedures, agitation etc. • Basic acceptable finishing of concrete with floats and trowels (columns/walls/foundations). • Cleans and maintains concrete and forming tools. • Proficiency with the basic elements of framing or forming. • Installation of in-wall and roof blocking/general carpentry. • Installation of safety railings, floor openings and general safety items. • Erects temporary partitions and doors. • Assists in the installation of doors, frames & hardware. • Responsible for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance and following OSHA standards. • Adheres to JE Dunn safety standards. • Role requires personal ownership of all necessary hand tools and pouches. • Expected behavioral standards: • Shows up and is ready to work when scheduled • Communicates absence or tardiness with supervisor as early as possible • Shows respect for yourself and others • Works safely • Has a can-do attitude Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core N/A Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner • Effective Communication skills, verbal and written • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work • Knowledge of all carpentry hand tools, use and own all required hand tools and pouches • Knowledge of all concrete tools and how they work • Basic understanding of principles of layout and construction math • Knowledge of setting forms for concrete (Foundations / SOG / Bulkheads) • Ability to complete assigned duties with minimal guidance • Ability to provide excellent customer service • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally Education • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) • Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred) • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Construction Administrator Salary Range:$85,000 - 110,000 /year Project Location: Temple, TX Job Type: Full-time Available Positions: 2 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION- GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS We are seeking a Construction Administrator to join our team at SIRIS to support a construction program at the VA Medical Center in Temple, TX. The Construction Administrator will report to the Program Manager as well as collaborate and assist VA client staff to provide data, and generate reports, as a representative for the client on major construction projects. CONSTRUCTION PERIOD RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE ASSISTING WITH: • Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting • Construction phase scheduling • Conduct or attend project meetings with the VA. • Review and monitor project schedules, RFI status, Submittal Status and contractor payment requests. • Assisting in issue resolution • Monitor and inspect all work performed by the Contractor relating to the project as it proceeds. • Document all work that does not conform to contract requirements and notify VA and contractor. • Compile list of defects and omissions related to work performed and provide tracking document. • Maintain marked up sets of project plans and specifications for future as-builts. • Preparing a variety of correspondence or meeting minutes from notes, briefs or limited comments. • Preparing timely correspondence or submittals • Receiving, reviewing, organization, transmitting, filing or arranging delivery of a variety of records to ensure timely action by project stakeholders. • Track construction modifications, contractor requests for clarification, and material submittals associated with the project. • Assist COR with coordination and communication of outages required for construction. • Preparing and compiling a variety of reports, correspondence, and program status documents, consolidating information into comprehensive documents, and preparing the final form for review • Maintain spreadsheets and tracking tools for various project team members. • Entering and maintaining data in electronic databases • Submit daily log of activity on the project. • Coordinate delivery and installation of Owner supplied equipment. CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR (CM-CA) QUALIFICATIONS: • The CM-CA may possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence work experience or knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education. A minimum of three (3) years of construction work experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for accountability. • The CM-CA shall possess a working knowledge of construction practices and call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change, and Information Management. • The CM-CA shall be familiar with the site operations of a General and Sub-contractor and the process of managing a building construction operation. • The CM-CA must have working experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance. • The CM-CA shall have experience in preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in the contractors work in relationship with the construction documents. In addition, they shall understand the baseline schedule and assist in determining the value of the acceptable work in place. • Work experience and completed projects shall be identified in the credentials of the individual to show competency to undertake a rigorous program in construction in all identified task order scope of work required solicitation. • The CM-CA must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat to monitor, update, and produce work products and compile data and records by applying both knowledge of the construction industry and computer literacy.
