Work is performed under immediate supervision of the construction supervisor. • Maintains, construction and repair collection and distribution system and maintains construction complex at the well field: • Performs a variety of skilled tasks in the construction and repairing of collection and distribution system and related equipment. • Load and unload gravel, dirt, timber, chemicals and other materials, tools and equipment as assigned; • Builds forms and assists with laying cement; • Digs shallow trenches, ditches and sewer lines; • Assists with repairs and construction on manholes and meter vaults; • Assists with removal, installation, and repair water meters; • Assists with installation and repair of water and sewer lines; • Cut grass, sprays weeds, trims shrubs and bushes at the well field construction complex; • Picks up paper and debris on public property and streets; • Performs other utility systems duties as assigned; • Responds to emergency calls after hours weekends and holidays; • Runs errands and picks up parts; • Flags traffic for work in or near roadways; • Performs all work in a safe manner; • Performs related tasks as required. Limited Knowledge in the safe use and operation of the equipment to which assigned; ability to understand and follow specific oral or written instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to lift heavy articles; good physical condition.
