CONSTRUCTION LABORER. PERFORM GENERAL LABOR DUTIES INVOLVING PHYSICAL LABOR ON AN ASPHALT PAVING LAY DOWN CREW OR GRADING CREW. PERFORM VARIOUS UNSKILLED TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH ASPHALT PAVING AND GRADING, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SHOVELING ASPHALT, STONE OR DIRT. USE VARIOUS HAND TOOLS SUCH AS SHOVEL, RAKE, LUTE, BROOM, PICK, HAMMER, OR SAW. DOES NOT OPERATE ASPHALT PAVING MACHINE, TAMPING MACHINE OR OTHER EQUIPMENT. MAY PERFORM DUTIES OF A DESIGNATED SPOTTER FOR TRUCKS AND EQUIPMENT AFTER PROPER TRAINING. PROLONGED WALKING, STANDING, STOOPING, STRETCHING, BENDING, LIFTING (USING CORRECT TECHNIQUE), PULLING, TWISTING, THROWING, REACHING AND SQUATTING. ALL WORK IS PERFORMED OUTDOORS AND CONTINUES IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER CONDITIONS INCLUDING EXPOSURE TO EXTREME HEAT AND COLD. MUST ABIDE BY PRECISE INSTRUCTIONS AND STRICT BUT NECESSARY SAFETY RULES AND POLICIES. WORKERS MAY BE REQUESTED TO SUBMIT TO RANDOM DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTS AT NO COST TO THE WORKER. General Responsibilities: The Traveling Construction Technician will perform various observations and tests on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and asphalt. Throughout the projects, you will communicate with Project Managers, client representatives, contractor’s representatives and other key stakeholders regarding testing and inspection results. Tests are performed on building construction projects and further tested in Terracon laboratories. Successful candidates will receive in-depth technical training and professional certifications as they advance in the position. Essential Role and Responsibilities: • Travel to and from projects as they are assigned to you • Under direction of staff professionals or project managers, assists with tasks and perform basic sample tests and observation of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt. • Document and prepare sample testing and observation data using a laptop or tablet device; submit findings accurately to a Project Manager and effectively communicate testing and inspection results. • Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments. • Ensure that all testing equipment and tools are properly calibrated and maintained. • Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Reports any safety issues or concerns to management. • Maintains quality standards on all projects and works cohesively as a team. • Transports materials safely from various job sites to the lab using a company provided vehicle. Requirements: • 100% Travel Required • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience. • Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel • ACI certification in one or more of the following areas: • Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I • Concrete Strength Testing Technician • Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation. • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications. • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history Preferred Certification: • Certifications in one or more of the following areas: • NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing in one or more of the following categories: Asphalt, Concrete, Soils. • NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical in one or more of the following categories: Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist • ICC certification in one or more of the following categories: Reinforced Concrete, Spray-applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed/Post-Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel – Bolting, Structural Steel – Welding. • American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) • American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II certification in more than one of the following areas: Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT). • Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications requiring experience and written examination will also be considered if deemed appropriate by the Terracon Department Manager. This position has been categorized as a "Remote Only" position. “Remote Only” employees do not have a designated workspace at an office, and typically work from home or another location. The national standard salary range for this position is $18.25-$25.50. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Pipe Laborers - Site and Utilities Construction

PIPE LABORERS NEEDED- Eastern Carolina Construction, Inc., a grading and utilities construction company, is currently seeking utilities and site construction laborers to support their local site and utility projects. Preference given to applicants with pipe installation experience. Roles and Responsibilities The Utilities and Site Construction Laborer positions will be responsible for the following duties in support of current local grading, site, and utility operations. • Assemble, connect, and construct pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains • Ensure ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes • Dig trenches with trenching tools • Cover pipes with dirt or other material • Duties to support site construction activities including driving an off road dump truck for hauling • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the well-being of others • Other General Laborer and construction related duties as required. • Dependable transportation to mobilize to job sites each day • Work in varying weather conditions. • Assist team in keeping project work site clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns. • Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements. • Perform any other general duties as specified. Qualifications/Education/Work Requirements • Construction experience will receive preference. • Off Road Truck: Ability to safely & efficiently operate in any direction • High school diploma/GED preferred. • Willing to obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment. • Required regular lifting of 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds and over. • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time. • Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends. • Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.
