This position will be located at Ozarks Region Office with the South Construction Crew in Lebanon, Missouri. Shift is Monday through Thursday (four 10-hour days per week), 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work assignments are located over a large geographic area of Missouri that will require travel and overnight stays during the workweek, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights. • Complete skilled work assignments in multiple building trades: painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, roofing, drywall, heating and cooling and all phases of concrete work. • Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed. • Perform manual work requiring heavy lifting, reaching, and bending. • Maintain a valid vehicle operator's license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment. This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator's license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification. AND To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills: • Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings. • Electrical: Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance. • Industrial Equipment Operation: Knowledge of principles and methods for operating industrial equipment. • Painting: Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to apply paint and other protective coating materials on drywall, wood, metal, glass, and other surfaces. • Plumbing and Pipefitting: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage. • Road Work and Pavement: Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to construct, maintain, or repair road surfaces, including sidewalks, parking lots, runways, etc. • Physical Strength and Agility: Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time; ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work. • Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior. Equivalent to those typically gained by: • Four to six years of on-the-job training in building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience) Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
