Project Manager - General Construction

Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Construction Location: Le Mars, IA | Travel Required Division: General Construction Status: Full-Time About the Role Sentry is seeking a Project Manager with experience leading complex water or wastewater treatment plant projects in the Le Mars, Iowa area. This role requires direct experience managing infrastructure projects as the General Contractor and a clear understanding of the full project lifecycle from preconstruction through close-out. You will be responsible for schedule, budget, quality, and communication from start to finish. This is a high-visibility role where precision, accountability, and leadership matter. We are looking for a Project Manager who can coordinate with field superintendents, manage internal divisions and subcontractors, communicate clearly with the owner, and make timely decisions that keep the job moving forward. Responsibilities Project Management and Execution • Lead the project from start to finish with full accountability for budget, schedule, scope, and quality • Coordinate work across all internal divisions (including Structural Steel, Electrical, Mechanical, and Manufacturing) and subcontractors • Manage project documentation, tracking, and reporting for leadership and owners • Work closely with the Superintendent to ensure daily progress, solve conflicts, and eliminate delays • Review project specs, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure alignment with design and owner expectations Communication and Documentation • Maintain clear, ongoing communication with clients, engineers, superintendents, and vendors • Track RFIs, change orders, field directives, submittals, and cost impacts with accuracy and urgency • Create and deliver project updates, schedules, and budget summaries for internal and external stakeholders Quality, Safety, and Compliance • Ensure all work meets or exceeds Sentry's quality expectations and project requirements • Support and enforce safety policies and protocols in coordination with site leadership • Identify risks early and implement solutions that protect the project and team What Success Looks Like • The project stays on schedule and under budget without compromising quality • Field operations are aligned with the overall plan and supported with clear direction • Clients are informed, confident, and satisfied with progress and communication • Documentation is clean, organized, and submitted on time • Challenges are addressed quickly and constructively Qualifications • 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, including direct responsibility for water or wastewater treatment plant builds or upgrades • Experience as the General Contractor managing self-perform and subcontractor scopes • Strong understanding of contracts, pay applications, RFIs, change orders, and close-out requirements • Ability to lead and coordinate field and office teams in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment • Excellent communication, documentation, and scheduling skills • Willingness to be on site in Le Mars, IA as needed for the duration of the project What You Can Expect at Sentry Sentry is a self-performing general contractor and full-service EPC firm.
