Position Summary As our Lead Carpenter, you will oversee and execute the carpentry scope on residential and light commercial projects from rough framing through finish trim. You'll lead a crew, coordinate tasks, uphold quality and safety standards, work from plans/blueprints, and be the go-to person on site for all things carpentry. Key Responsibilities • Interpret construction plans, blueprints and layout drawings; establish work sequencing and material needs. • Lead, direct and mentor a carpentry crew (carpenters, helpers, apprentices) and coordinate with subcontractors. • Perform skilled carpentry tasks: framing, sheathing, exterior/interior trim, siding/window/door installation, decks, custom details. • Manage material ordering, receiving checks and on-site usage; track tools and job-site equipment. • Oversee job-site organization, cleanliness, safety compliance, and quality control. • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients and other trades to maintain schedules, budgets and client expectations. • Troubleshoot on-site problems, provide solutions and adjust workflow as needed. Qualifications & Skills • Significant carpentry experience (rough & finish) in residential or light commercial construction. • Proven leadership ability and experience supervising a carpentry crew. • Strong ability to read and interpret plans, determine layout and execute accordingly. • Comfortable with power tools/hand tools, lifting, climbing ladders, and job-site physical demands. • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation to job sites. • Strong work ethic, punctuality, professional demeanor and pride in craftsmanship. • (Preferred) Own basic carpentry tool set. • (Preferred) Familiarity with building codes, safe work practices and crew coordination.
