CNC Operator/Set-Up Location: Cast Technologies Industry: Non-Ferrous FoundryMachine Shop Job Summary The CNC Machine Operator/Set-Up is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to produce precision metal components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires knowledge of tooling, fixtures, programming adjustments, and machining processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety. Essential DutiesResponsibilities • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements. • Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and materials as required for each job run. • Set machine offsets, tool lengths, and verify programs prior to production. • Perform set-ups on CNC lathes, mills, and other machining centers. • Monitor machine operations, perform quality checks, and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances. • Troubleshoot and resolve machining or tooling issues. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety and 5S standards. • Complete production documentation accurately and timely. • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and supervisors to improve processes. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. • 2-3+ years CNC machine operation experience, with proven set-up skills required. • Strong knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machining principles. • Experience with vertical and/or horizontal CNC machines preferred. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GM codes, and precision measuring tools. • Good problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods.
