AMI Industries in Sault Sainte Marie is looking for highly motivated individuals to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We have immediate openings for entry-level Machine Operator positions. This position starts at $14.75/hr. Candidates will be required to operate mechanical and manual assemblies. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, meet daily production rates and be dependable with attendance. Positions are full time on 1st shift. No experience necessary. Benefit package is offered after completion of 90-day introductory period which include medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401k. Along with paid holidays and paid sick days. Job Duties include but not limited to: • Clock in/out at defined times. • Follow all safety guidelines. • Follow Supervisor instructions. • Follow all Operator instructions. • Follow all inspection methods (visual, gage) that are required. • Correctly fill out all necessary paperwork and tags. Operator instructions and alerts must be signed. • 100% visually inspect for quality issues or concerns and report to supervisor. Stop running production if defective parts are found and immediately notify supervisor. • Must carry out duties per ISO/TS 16949 and ISO9001/ISO14001 requirements. • Follow any or all other duties as assigned. Job Requirements • Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory and / or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis. • Ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds • Regular and predictable attendance. • Must be able to stand on feet for a minimum of 8 hours. • Must be able to reach forward, lift, stoop and bend. CNC Machine Operators Job Duties include: • Accurately inspect finished parts using microscopes, tool maker's scope, micrometers, OGP, gage pins, thread gages, indicators, calipers or other equipment. • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools. • Follow and continually monitor established safety procedures to assure a clean and safe work environment is promoted and maintained. • Ability to read and understand process documentation and company procedures. • Ability to perform mathematics used to set up and operate machines and equipment. • Ability to observe machine operating conditions and identify potential issues that can result in poor product quality and machine breakdowns and correct in advance. • Ability to independently complete tasks assigned by others. Only unusual problems are referred to more experienced staff. • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. • Maintains specifications by observing manufacturing processes; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; and adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Operates machines to ensure completed parts conform to print and process specifications. • Makes adjustments to machine off-sets to achieve required tolerances. • Maintain adherence to production schedules and ensure quality inspections are completed in accordance with established procedures. • Performs routine maintenance. • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a manner that interfaces well with customers, co-workers, and management members.
