Machinist

General Summary Sets up and operates CNC, drill presses, lathes, mill, OD grinder, surface grinders, and other machines and hand tools to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts all in accordance with safety and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities • Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, sample parts, or engineering information to determine methods and sequence of operations to fabricate product. • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as CNC, mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. • Measures, examines, and tests completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. • Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. • Other duties as assigned. Continued coursework in machining, tooling highly preferred. Experience 5+ years of related experience/coursework using CNC (Mazak and MasterCam experience a plus), drill presses, lathes, and grinders preferred. Skills & Abilities Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a proven track record that demonstrates your ability to effectively set up, and operate CNC equipment (HAAS CNC Machine), drill presses, lathes, mills, OD grinders, surface grinders, and other machines and hand tools to successfully fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Possess a strong engineering aptitude, should be able to conceptualize metallic and non-metallic parts and analyze processes required to fabricate them accordingly. Must be able to compute complex mathematical equations (algebra and geometry) including ratios, proportions, percentages, as well as add, subtract, multiply, divide. Must be capable of standing for a full shift (8 to 12 hours), able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds, walk, stoop, kneel, bend over, and grasp objects with both hands on a frequent basis.

CNC Machinist

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Set-up, maintain and operate machine shop equipment, machine tools, including our jig boring machine, manual mill, lathe and surface grinder. • Produce quality components to Engineering drawings and sketches. • Work to acceptable production and quality standards. • Adhere to Health & Safety policies, quality procedures and job specific work instructions. • Follow written and verbal instructions from Lead Hand and Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • Grade 12 or equivalent • Knowledge of standard Machine Shop practices. • Able to read mechanical blueprints and use standard measuring tools (i.e. vernier or dial calipers, micrometer, height gauge and bore gauges). Experience: • 3 years Machine shop experience. • Haas CNC machine as asset Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge: • Capable of safely operating all Machine Shop tools and equipment including cranes and tow motor. • Able to complete process checks & inspection for quality and accuracy based upon engineering specifications. • Able to effectively communicate to Lead Hands and Supervisors on problems relating to production, scrap, tooling, and equipment. • Capable of setting up, identifying, and replacing cutting tools. • Capable of troubleshooting process and tooling problems including communication of root cause findings. • Assist with tool studies, process development and product or process improvements. CNC Milling Machinist

We are currently assisting a local precision metals manufacturing company in Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch with finding an experienced CNC Mill Machinist. This company is known for its stable and long-tenured team, and they are seeking a dedicated professional to join their growing operation. Preferred Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years of advanced machining experience. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting CNC programs. • Experience with 3D programming software such as SolidWorks, CamWorks, or Fusion 360. • Familiarity with Okuma, Mitsubishi, and Fanuc controls is a plus.
