Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager with proven experience in CNC machining and SolidCAM programming. This role oversees all aspects of production—scheduling, setup, quality control, and personnel management. The ideal candidate is a skilled programmer and leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about continuous improvement, efficiency, and precision. Key Responsibilities • Plan and coordinate daily operations across CNC mills and lathes to meet delivery and quality goals. • Supervise, train, and mentor 6+ operators and setup technicians. • Oversee machine selection, tooling, and fixturing for each project. • Create, review, and optimize tool paths and machining programs using SolidCAM within SolidWorks. • Ensure production efficiency, accuracy, and quality control through all phases of manufacturing. • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales teams on planning and quoting. • Maintain and enforce safety procedures and OSHA compliance. • Lead Lean / 5S initiatives to reduce waste and standardize operations. • Conduct employee performance reviews and implement training plans. Required Skills & Experience • Minimum 5 years of CNC mill programming experience with strong G-code proficiency. • Minimum 10 years of mill setup and machining experience (tool offsets, work coordinates, fixture alignment). • Proficient in SolidWorks and SolidCAM for program creation and optimization. • Proven leadership of teams (6+ machinists or setup technicians). • Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and material behavior. • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies. • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings and perform precision inspections.
