Bearing Repair Technician The Bearing Repair Technician is the most important piece of our operation. They take ownership of the entire repair process from start to finish. They perform a detailed incoming inspection using micrometers and other fine measurement tools, learn to draw prints based on their findings and make recommendations on necessary critical repairs. As well rounded machinists and fabricators they are able to select and operate the proper machine shop tools to remove damaged babbitt and prepare the bearing for repair. They may also use raw materials, CNC machines, welding tools, flame spraying, or electrical test equipment to manufacture, alter or test components as part of the process. During the babbitting process they move the part to our custom foundry where they apply new babbitt using various casting techniques. Once the babbitt is cast, their skill at precision machining and metalworking outputs a finished bearing crafted to precise dimensions. Using non-destructive testing techniques and measurement tools they verify the quality and dimensions of their work before preparing the bearing to ship to the customer. Requirements All Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen. Bearing Repair Technician - I, II, III - A good attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn. A combination of relevant experience and education showing the ability to step in and perform with little supervision. Under the general direction of the Production Manager, the Deburrer is responsible for performing various deburring activities including removing burrs and chips from machined parts in a timely and effective manner. Washes, rinses, and dries parts that have been deburred and polished, moves finished product to next work center. Other related duties as assigned. Competitive Pay and Great Benefits!! Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for deburring and polishing machined parts, utilizing a work bench, compressed air, hand tools, and small power tools. 2. Visual inspection of various machined parts to ensure precision deburring and rectifying problem areas. 3. Responsible for promptly reporting deviations or nonconformities in dimensional materials to the supervisor. 4. Visually inspects various components to ensure precision deburring standards have been met. Conducts a quality check of all deburring plates prior to releasing to Assembly Department. Responsible for reporting anything abnormal to the Assistant Production Manager or Production Manager. 5. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of daily production, obtaining and completing necessary forms and records as required. 6. Move parts that are properly deburred to washroom. 7. Responsible for maintaining company equipment, tools and personal work area in a neat, clean organized manner. 8. Responsible for keeping Production Manager informed of any problems that may affect production or equipment. Report any broken or damaged equipment to the supervisor or manager as soon as noticed. 9. Responsible for always following safety procedures and advising the Production Manager of any safety related issues. Must wear PPE Personal Protective Equipment designated for that particular job at all times. 10. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements: - Must possess a reasonable degree of hand-eye coordination in order to effectively utilize tools required for the job. Ability to learn part names, part numbers and deburring procedures and apply that knowledge in a timely manner. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment an asset but not essential. - Demonstrate dedication towards satisfactory attendance and punctuality. Understanding of the importance of quality and consistently demonstrate a commitment towards the same. Ability to effectively get along with co-workers and work as a team member. - Effective communication skills with the ability to accurately follow direction, both oral and written, and get along well with others. Attention to detail, accuracy and flexibility are a must. Basic computer skills with ability to perform data entry for recording inventory. - Physical ability to lift up to 60 lb and push a cart weighing up to 600 lb. Machinists repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements based on blueprints and/or technical drawings. RESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricate and repair aerospace component parts by utilizing CNC, VTL, milling machines and lathes. Use inspection tools such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth) calipers, pi tapes, hand tools, layout tools, grinders, drills, wrenches, and mallets. Inspect parts per requirements to ensure compliance with specifications. Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed. Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Complete required inspection documentation reports. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Solid working knowledge of machine tools/parts, set up, operation and maintenance. Previous experience interpreting blueprints, work orders and manuals. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Ability to read, write, speak, and effectively communicate in English. Intermediate math skills for measurement, testing and problem resolution.
