Job Description: CNC Operator Pay Rate: $22 -27/hr First and Second Shift Available 1st shift: Monday - Friday (7:00am - 3:30pm) 2nd shift: Monday - Friday (3:00pm - 11:30pm) Opportunity for Overtime and Growth Clean and Climate Controlled Facility Job Responsibilities: • Work within tight tolerance ranges with a high level of precision and attention to detail. • Understand programming and make necessary adjustments at startup to produce nominal parts. • Interpret part drawings and GD&T requirements. • Utilize inspection and gaging techniques with measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, plug, and ring gages. • Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on Star and Citizen CNC Screw machines. • Understand tooling required for the CNC processes. • Complete setups, including loading programs, checking and positioning fixtures and cutting tools, and making offset programming adjustments. • Read blueprints and understand tolerances and programs. Responsibilities: • Fabricate custom machine parts using manual lathes, mills, and other shop equipment. • Program and operate CNC machines with minimal supervision. • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. • Keep machine tools clean and in good working order. • Train and assist fellow employees in machining techniques. • Follow all safety procedures and maintain high safety standards. Requirements: Knowledge/Skills: • Proficient in manual machining (milling, turning, grinding). • Skilled in CNC programming and operation. • Strong understanding of materials such as carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, and plastics. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents. • Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. • Strong mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and geometry. • Effective communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Experience: • Minimum of 5 years machining experience as a journey-level machinist in a production environment. • Certificate or degree from technical or trade school preferred. The R. M. The machine operator will pack and assist stacker as appropriate. The employees may rotate positions during shift to produce quality-finished product and meet production goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Review production schedule to determine total run quantity. Notify supervisor if revisions are needed due to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability of ingredients, machines and equipment. • Understands and references machine set-up guide to properly set and run machines. • Start machine by engaging controls. Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards. Set, adjust and troubleshoot as needed. • Sort, grade, weigh, and inspect products verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications. • Identify defective items, remove and refer to supervision for direction. Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items. • Set pace on line and work with other employees to meet or exceed production goals. • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams or glue that isn't sticking properly. • Attach identification labels to finished packaged items, or place labels, such as lot numbers or shipping destinations. • Stock and sort product and replenish packaging supplies. • Count and record finished and rejected packaged items. • Package the product in the form in which it is to be sent out. • Operates at least one automated, high output machine and satisfactorily completes all Operator I tasks. • Displays a positive and uplifting attitude towards peers. • All Employees must actively participate in stretching exercises at the beginning of their shift; participate in product inventory as required; follow all company safety rules / procedures & OSHA Standards; follow established company rules & guidelines; follow established continuous improvement procedures & SQF standards.
