PRIMARY DUTIES • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) in both English and Metric drawings. • Program machine tools; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs. • Set-up machine tools using fixtures, clamps, indicators, and utilize overhead cranes for work piece placement. • Responsible for fixture designs to reduce setup time and improve efficiencies/throughputs. • Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance; troubleshoot/repair equipment to maintain OEM specifications • Select and order tooling and misc. equipment required for the operation of the machine(s). • Utilize fork lift trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, automobiles, etc. for material handling functions. REQUIREMENTS • Successful graduation from a technical training school with an emphasis on Machine Tool and CNC Machining/Programming, or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience within the last 10 years. • Must maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and specifications/regulations. • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated computer knowledge & skills. Must be a self-starter who is flexible and able to organize and prioritize work tasks.
