Job Title: Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled machinist responsible for the setup and operation of Vertical Machining Centers and CNC lathes. The ideal candidate should be capable of working overtime and weekends when necessary, and possess the ability to operate CNC machines efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities • Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers and CNC lathes. • Work directly under a Project Manager and Operations Manager to produce finished parts. • Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, and offsets. • Set up mills and lathes using fixtures and stops to successfully produce parts. • Maintain specifications by observing milling and turning operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, and adjusting and reprogramming controls. • Sharpen and replace worn tools to ensure optimal machine performance. • Produce finished parts using various materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass/bronze, alloys, and plastics. • Read and interpret technical drawings. • Check and maintain tolerances against provided drawings. • Work both independently and in small teams to complete tasks efficiently. Essential Skills • Experience with CNC machines and their operation. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. • Proficiency in machining and programming equipment. • Experience with drill press, shear, and machine operating. • Ability to read and interpret drawings accurately.
