See More Details >>JOB SUMMARY The CNC Lathe Machinist 2nd Shift will perform a variety of finish machining practices involved with turning, boring, drilling and threading while maintaining close tolerances on a wide variety of components from various industries. The ideal candidate needs to be fluent with Fanuc Controls. The candidate must be able to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, read and understand programs, all to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Must have basic hand & measuring tools, indicators, etc. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required. • Ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities. • Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required. • Ability and willingness to work around and use large propane / acetylene torches. • Ability to operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment (training will be provided on our specific equipment, but basic skills are required beforehand). • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Basic verbal and written communication skills. • Patience, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. • Basic computer and math skills. • Ability to work within a team. • Must be able to read and understand Blueprints and G-Code • Must be familiar with basic machining practices involved in turning, milling, drilling, threading operations. • Must be competent reading drawings and following instructions necessary to produce usable and saleable parts. • Must be able to hold tolerances as dictated by drawings, written instructions, or industry standards. • Must be proficient with the use of, the care of, and the calibration of all types of measuring devices (i.e., micrometers [OD and ID], dial calipers, dial indicators, etc.). • Must possess and provide basic tools required for the execution of the position of manual machinist. • Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence. • Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions. • Maintaining a clean and organized work area • Must be able to read and understand Blueprints and G-Code • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues. • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion. OTHER INFORMATION The position will be based full time in our Bethlehem, PA facility. • Evening and weekends depending on company needs. • Position will have a 60-day probation period. At the end of the probation period, the machinist will be reviewed to determine competency of work performance and compliance with established company safety directives. • Position will be compensated on an hourly basis, with bi-weekly pay periods. • Able to understand, read, write, and speak English proficiently in order to communicate with shop supervision and safety directives. • Legal to work in the United States. • Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, physical performance evaluation and background check. Physical Requirements: • While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand and walk for significant portions of the shift. • Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance. • Must be able to use hands for assembly and tool usage. • Must not have allergies or issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
